some twenty years ago or so me and a friend id made on furcadia (both of us ESL with different mother tongues) were so obsessed with the word “flan” that we had this whole concept for a tycoon style game about making a flan factory. sadly interest was quickly lost after some crude mspaint drawings
my main problem with the internet today and why i miss older hangout spaces like avatar chats and furcadia and habbo and forums (yes a lot of them still exist but their user base is calcified and either ghost towns or impenetrable for newbies) is how you don’t make friends anymore. you just yell into a chamber and sometimes some people click a meaningless heart on it but they don’t actually want to interact with you. social media is anything but
