If you would like to donate to Monthly Adventures please use the Donate button to the right. This will take you to PayPal. You do not have to have your own PayPal account in order to send a donation to MA. If you would rather send a check or money order please contact Fibers on Ravelry.
I will try to keep the fund-raising down to once every 3 months. In addition to fund-raising we will continue to have auctions once in a while.
Please keep in mind that you are not obligated in any way to donate. The main purpose of MA is to give you a place to share the things you are working on, ideas, issues that are bothering you and a place for support and comfort when needed. MA is all about being a happy place for you. We all know that times are tough and I do not want you worrying about whether or not you give money. I do not post a list of people who have donated. You are always eligible for prizes whether you give or not. I am of the thinking that eventually every one will do what they can, when they can.
I Thank You in advance for any amount you can give and I absolutely understand if the time is not right for donating.

Ready to Go
It's now finished and ready to go to purr - all 500g of it! I hadn't realised that it would take that much yarn but it's quite a deep border - 5 inches from edge to points.

Chris will post it for me tomorrow. May it whizz across the pond in the blink of an eye and may the stitching be a cinch! :-)

Kcatt79's Afghan Border Blocking
I thought this might give some of you a bit of a giggle.
The border is finished and blocking and, initially, I tried to block it on our spare bed but I had to layer it and that meant it was going to take way too long to dry. So, hey presto, six towels laid out the length of the sitting room and half way through the width of the hall and we have enough room to block it in a single layer.

Now, if it wasn't for that large plant, the whole length could have fitted into the sitting room but no way am I moving that large leaved plant out of our wealth corner! LOL
DH can cope with not stepping on the border itself but did almost trip over the ball of yarn that is still attached to the other end. (chortle, chortle)
I was aiming for 19 feet 4 inches post blocking but I have over 20 feet so I think it should be more than enough and, in case it's too much, I've put lifelines in after every repeat from 16 feet onwards. Now, if only it would hurry up and dry! Then I can pack it up and send it to purr for sewing on.

Border
I'm knitting the border for one of the afghans and have knitted six feet of it up to now which I am about to frog.

The yarn is Wendy Traditional Aran. It seemed to tick all the boxes - superwash, 100% wool, worsted weight, natural colour - but it's way too hard for a baby. I bought it because it's all I could get without having to order over the internet. I was worried that delivery would take too much time between Xmas and New Year and time is running short. Luckily, DH decided he really needed to go into the office (in London) today and he's going to try to get me some softer yarn that ticks all the boxes. I've asked him to try for Rowan Pure Wool Aran in a natural colour. I'm SO hoping they have some so I can restart quickly! I could kick myself for knitting so much before deciding it really WAS too hard and now I have to restart. If there's anyone here in this echoey chamber, please cheer me on. I could really do with it right now.
ETA: DH has managed to get a whole kilo of Rowan Pure Wool Aran in just the right shade in the sale with more than 50% off so all is well. I will even have enough left to make a project I've been planning to make for some time so that's a bonus!
