It's been a (long) while since I last posted on this blog ... Last week, I was in Hollywood recording my first instructional DVD for the Gnomon School of Visual Effects. Here is an excerpt.

One of a dozen or so sketches drawn on bar napkins... while standing, having a drink at Mighty on Saturday night and watching "This Charming Band" - a Smith tribute band. Great show!

This is Usagi Yojimbo, a Stan Sakai character. This is the first gouache painting I've done in the last 4 years!
It's 8.5 X 11 inches on cold press illustration board...so just mix paint, add a little water and 5 hours later...Presto!
Feels good to get back into my old preferred medium.
