Dawn Songs: A Birdwatcher's Field Guide to the Poetics of Migration, a collection of poetry and essays celebrating birds and nature, contains works from 60 notable writers and features my acrylic painting of a yellow warbler (Setophaga petechia), Dawn Song, on the cover.  I contributed to the proofreading of the manuscript, as well, so I can testify that I have read every essay and poem; I promise you they will make you think about your connection to the natural world.  Hopefully, they will make you more cognizant of the critical role each of us can play in honoring and protecting our avian friends.  On the whole, this book will make your spirits soar.
