Image On our snowshoe hike last weekend, we ran into the resident "treeman."

Hello everyone! It has been awhile since we have updated our blog, we just seem to get busy and the blog updates are fairly low on the importance list I guess.

The past month has been fun, with a couple of trips skiing, and as the photo above shows - we went to a Jazz game last weekend, and the next day we snowshoed for about 2 hours and ended up at the "Strawberry Lodge" at Snowbasin, where we had chili and soup for lunch before snowshoeing back to the truck.
It was a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky, and about 30 degrees. It is fun to get out and enjoy life, even in the middle of winter! I love doing things with my wonderful wife, she is such an absolute joy to be around, she never complains and just loves to be "high on life"

Happy Birthday Jeff!!!
Today is Jeff's 25th birthday. We just celebrated Jeff's birthday by having a party with all his sisters and a dozen or so of his friends. Linda cooked a nice meal, and then we played games.
It is always a lot of fun to have everyone over.

The other one is what happens when you are not as good (and young) as you think you are!

Everybody already knows the happy news that our sixth grandchild, Krew, was born on Heather's birthday! She said she'd had a feeling all along that it would happen that way. He sure is a strong and beautiful baby. Our prayers are with him day and night.

We really appreciate the encouragement we receive from family to update our blog. For sure it will not be too much longer before we get in the habit. It has taken a couple of years for me to finally start texting thanks to my new Blackberry. (Which I wouldn't have now if my perfectly good cell phone had'nt gone through the wash.) I love texting now! It only took a day to start loving it. Like Sam I Am in "Green Eggs and Ham" I was very sure I would not like it, but had never tried it! Makes me wonder what things people like me miss out on in life because they're afraid they won't like it.

This last month has been more than wonderful because I have my boys back in Logan! Only mothers who've had kids live far away know how it feels. Jeff landed a good job at Thermal Fisher and is working WEEKDAYS. He is looking forward to actually having a social life.

David works from 3-11pm at Schriebers and also puts in a couple of shifts at Big 5 Sporting Goods. He sold his BMW (for the full asking price... such a good negotiator) and bought a black VW Beetle. He plans to sell the Beetle for a profit and get another vehicle. He has learned this by watching Mark make money on the side. He has joined the student ward where our best friend Craig Adams is in the bishopric.

Mark is feeling like the Christmas Season is flying by way too fast. He is such a kid at heart and always loves time spent with our children and grandchidren. He always wants more! He misses the hustle and bustle of his house when it was full of little girls and their friends.

Ever the perfectionist, (a trait I totally adore) Mark spent a lot of time and effort doing his first three photography assignments. With snowplow season here it will take some diligent planning to keep up his school work.

The Community Christmas Concert was incredible, more so for me because of my participation. I switched from Soprano to Alto based on recommendations from my singing coach. It was challenging to learn harmony, but I think I'll consider staying Alto for awhile. Tommorrow night is our friends Christmas party where we will be decorating gingerbread houses, and it is a contest; men against women. Any awesome ideas ladies? We women are determined to win! It occurs to me that we haven't yet selected an impartial judge.....hmmm
(Just a note from Mark here; The Woman cheat!!! Linda started buying special little "goodies" for their gingerbread house 2 weeks before I even knew we were building them!)
Heather is still rather enamored with Ty. There seems to be enough reciprocation to make for really fun dinner time discussions! Today Jeff is taking Heather and Ty and a couple other kids climbing for her birthday. She is really good at rock climbing and that thrills me.

Enough for now, we need to start our day. We Love you all and Merry Christmas!

What an eventful couple of weeks we've had! Heather hosted a huge boy-girl Halloween party for six hours last Friday. Then two of the girls slept over. She couldn't quit talking about how that it was the most fun party she has ever been to in her life. (I can't help but wonder if it had anything...or everything to do with the fact that Ty, a great kid that likes her, was there and one of the games was spin the bottle, Hug) Hormones can make a party like that extra fun.

Tuesday, a couple of girlfriends and I hiked the whole North side of the Wellsvilles starting in Petersboro, summiting at the hawk outlook and decending down deep canyon. Those mountains are soooo big. I love walking along the tippy top where you can look down and see both valleys at the same time. I could've been an eagle because I love the high places so much. Corinne, one of my hiking friends is the pastor of the Lutheran church in town and is preparing to run her 12th marathon.

She and I came up with the idea to form and inter-faith Wasatch-Back Relay team. So, we'll probably have four Mormons, four Lutheran, a couple of Methodists and maybe a couple from Assembly of God. How awesome is that? We were laughing so hard trying to come up with a name for the team.

I am singing with the inter-faith choir, and we are doing Christmas music. My favorite is Breath of Heaven by Amy Grant.

Mark's photo class is going well. He is enjoying it and learning lot. I am thrilled to see him increasing his talents!

Gotta run...
Take Care everyone

Hello Everyone!
Linda and I (and David) just returned from Nauvoo.
We had a great trip, the weather was perfect with temps in the mid 70's.
It was really awesome to be able to walk the same streets as the Prophet did, and to see the restored homes and shops. The Temple is beautiful!

On Sunday afternoon we drove to Carthage and walked through the jail, it was a very spiritual experience to be in the same room that the Prophet was martyred in. We had a sister missionary walk us through the jail and tell us step by step what the events of that day were. The door entering into the room still has the two bullet holes in it, one through the latch and the second is the bullet that killed Hyrum Smith.
Before the tour we watched a short film on Joseph's life and the sister missionary told us if we would ask in prayer what we expected to gain while there, she promised that our prayers would be answered. What a great promise, the Spirit was very strong there!

We would love to tell you all about it, and show you all of the photo's, when we are together.

On our way to Nauvoo from St. Louis we stayed one night in Hannibal, that is the town that Mark Twain grew up in and his stories are told about. we took a river boat ride on the Mississippi river. That was fun, I had never been to the Mississippi river before.
On the last day we went into St. Louis and took a "tram" to the top of the inside of the Gateway Arch, that was pretty cool, it is the tallest man made monument in the USA-630 feet high. From the top you can look out over St. Louis on one side and the Mississippi on the other.

Take care everyone!

Mark is teaching me how to post on this blog. We are really glad to stay connected with our friends and family this way.

Last week I went back to teaching classes at the Sports Academy, (after nearly five years off). They gave me a University Spinning PE class on Tues and Thurs, and a water aerobics class on Thurs as well. I am having tons of fun running into old friends. The improvements to the gym are fantastic. So far, I don't mind getting up extra early to do this. Thank goodness for Heather and her computer wizardry; she has been so patient ( I'm picky) to download new music for me.

Last Thursday I conducted my fourth seminar on Health/Energy and The Phenomena of Indigo Children. It was very successful, and I've been invited to travel to Ohio the first weekend of Oct and present it to Complimentary and Alternative Medical Professionals there. It is so rewarding to think that some little thing I say might make a positive difference in some one's life.

Thank you to everyone for your encouragement in getting us going with this blog.
Have a healthy and happy day,
Linda

Labor Day 2008

What a difference a couple of days makes!

Linda and I spent Labor day at the cabin with a couple of friends, and as you can see from the photos the weather was very much fall. A little wet snow and a lot of rain. We were very glad we were not camping in a tent! We had a great time, playing games and just enjoying looking out at mother nature.
