Palisade State Park

Image

Over the 24th of July we went to Palisade State Park down by Manti. We had never been there before, but had heard good things about it. I think Eric just heard there was a lake there so of course he was excited to go. As soon as we got there Eric hooked up the fishing gear for him and Colton. The entire night they didn't catch a thing. When it comes to fishing though....Eric is determined to not go home without catching something.

The next morning, Colton and I took a walk to the playground while Eric went down to rent a canoe so he could fish the "middle" of the lake. Needless to say we quickly became famous around the campground for two things. 1. We borrowed one of Eric's dad's generators to link to our generator so we were running our air conditioning in our trailer while everyone else was sweating in their's. 2. People would come up to Eric and say "you are the guy from the canoe?" because he ended up catching 21 fish within the 3 hours or so of the canoe rental. Then everyone couldn't believe that he threw them all back in the lake. ImageLast but not least we got to show Colton the Manti temple.

Our baby girl!

ImageWe owe it to many of you to post some pics of our little angel. She was born on March 4th and weighed in at a whopping 5 lbs 4 ounces and was 18.5 inches long. She left the hospital at her birth weight and at her 2 week appointment weighed 6 lbs 5 ounces and was 19.5 inches long (mamma's milk is working great :-)

Colton has been a fantastic big brother and gives her kisses throughout the day. If she wimpers or cries he is the first to run to her rescue........The neighborhood boys have already been put on alert that Colton will bust their chops if they mess with his sister!
Sleep is a commodity of the past....amazing what happens with our understanding of what we had once a resource has diminished in availability. We honestly forgot that newborn babies do not sleep. Well, let me re-phrase that....We honestly forgot that newborn babies know how to sleep when you are awake, they therefore lack the necessity to sleep when you are sleeping.

Here are some pics of her...oh! Almost forgot. We named her Presley Jo.

p.s. At 2 and a half weeks she rolled over.....4 times in one "tummy time" session. I didn't believe it myself so we got it on film at 3 and a half weeks (now I just need to upload the film so all of you will actually believe me).

Baby Gender

We found out on Halloween that we are having a girl, most likely on March 4th. Sorry we haven't updated this blog forever. I told Kati she needs to start updating these posts....and so far....well, she hasn't updated anything. :-) We have some names picked out but are not sure what we will name her.

Kati and baby are healthy!

Colton's 20-Incher & Chicken Chase

Colton landed this nice trout and 2 others in about an hour (his last one was a couple of inches bigger than this one). We caught nearly 150 fish between 5 people. Gotta love fall fishing at Strawberry!

We went to Monterey in September for cousin Lexi's birthday party. We had a wonderful time! On one of our crazy voyages into the backcountry we visited San Juan Bautista Mission. Colton reminded us that it looked like "Nacho's Home". Outside he and Lexi found these playful (whether they wanted to be playful or not) chickens!
