January 2021 brings in a new year

Can you see our house. When we fly back and forth we can see our house down below.  

We do not have a lot of snow in the winter in St George. However occasionally there is some and it is very pretty on the red rock. 

Heather and Frank along with Sandy and Kelly joined us for a ride in Logandale. It was a nice day and we had a fun time.

The kids were not excited to hike on a paved trail but we had a lot of fun. There were porcupine babies in the trees. They explored along the dry river bed. 

Family time around the bar. Lots of good food and fun. 

Swimming in the warm pool at night. It does not get any better than this. Lights on in the desert are so pretty. The kids do not want to get out. 

Another climb up the mountain behind our house. Everyone that comes has to do it. It is a great view. 

Some more hot tub time. So fun, it never gets old. 

I did not take this picture. I just loved it so added it in. I am sure it was taken somewhere down her in Southern Utah. 

Rachel and Nicole came down to visit and do some climbing. 

It can get cool down here in January but it is usually sunny and no ice or snow to be found.

Another look at an amazing storm over the Rexburg Temple. 

We drove over to Boise to pick up a new car. This was the first time I saw Leslie and Ella since Covid showed up. We only had 10 minutes to visit. She was sad about that. 

Lily has been working hard. She did an internship for NASA and this was her stash she got from NASA. 

Since we are not able to visit with everyone we did a ZOOM get together. It was fun but not the same as seeing these people in person. 

Madison County had a 100 year celebration of the Court House. Jeff helped to give tours. His Grandpa built it. He had fun showing the kids from the schools come and see it. He is pointing something out in the pictures from when it was built. 

For Christmas this year they had a live drive thru Nativity at the Temple. We joined the line and went through it. They even had live camels and other animals. 

One of Santas elves looks tired. We had our tree up. Christmas is coming. 

Jeff got a putting green for Christmas. 

We bought a Can Am in St George. Best thing ever because we did not like pulling the RZR back and forth from Rexburg. This is a fork lift putting the side by sides away. 

Another puzzle finished. We have done so many puzzles. We do enjoy them. 

We love our Saint George hot tub. So many good visits in it. Rachel and her friend came to see us.

November 2021...the pandemic continues

We are still in the middle of the Covid Pandemic. It has been a long time since things were back to normal. They still are not. However we decide to take a trip to Florida. We loaded up our masks and hand sanitizer and flew to Orlando. We arrived late evening. The rental cars were mostly out and the staff was getting ready to leave. So they gave us a brand new Audi that was really nice. We were about the only people at the Marriott resort. 

There was a golf course on site. We decided to give it a try. There were gators in the ponds. It was really humid. We golfed with a guy and his young son. He was a pretty intense golfer. I was still post knee surgery so I was pretty timid. We had a good time. 

Our condo was nice. Our balcony overlooked the golf course. There was a pond with fun birds hanging out in it. We played cars every evening on the patio in the dark. It was very cozy. 

While we were there a Hurricane was hanging around. So we had a bit of rain and wind. We drove to the coast and checked out the big waves. We sat on our deck even when it was raining. 

The traditional trip to Cocoa Beach and Ron Jon surf shop. It has expanded a lot since our first time we went there with all of the kids. We spent time looking around and buying 12 days of Christmas gifts. 

The Hurricane did not keep us down. We drove to the other side of Florida and looked around. It was stormy there also but fun for us from Idaho. We looked around Clearwater and drove a ways down the coast to the little beach towns. 

We decided we would do one park and settled on Epcot Center. We went to the Animal Kingdom last year. It was fun. It has not changed a lot since we went with all the kids so long ago. We walked all day and did about 15,000 steps which was good for my new knee. We stood right here with the kids long ago on a Christmas trip to Florida.

Ain't that the truth. Good old George Orwell. 

Here is a picture of one of Jeff's buddies when they were still young. Now we are good friends with the Beesley's. We golf and have a lot of fun. 

Jeff is the master omelette maker. He loves to cook breakfast. 

We did a Thanksgiving Zoom visit with everyone. We miss seeing them and getting together. 

We did Thanksgiving dinner by ourselves. Damn Covid. 

Jeff decided he wanted to try making a Beef Wellington. He worked on it for two days. It was very good. Kudos to him. 

Bart and Joanne joined us for dinner. We had a good feed and a good visit. 

We discovered this channel in Peru. Jeff figured out how to get here. So we listen to it all the time. Everyone loves it when we have it on. Radio Mágica...

We do puzzles non stop during Covid. It is calming and keeps us busy. The only problem is Jeff and I have different systems. He sorts by shape and I sort by color or print. We manage to finish them eventually.
