A Lifetime of Service and Advocacy
My name is Mike O’Callaghan, and I am running for mayor of Portland, Oregon. My life has been a testament to service, advocacy, and an unwavering commitment to community. With a rich history of activism and a continuous concern for Portland, I am ready to help move our city towards a brighter, more inclusive future.
Why a Vote for me is a Vote for Change…
- As a 6th gen Oregonian I have the experience and ideas to polish Portland’s sparkle.
- I was made a national hero by Newsweek in 1987 for my ‘Feed the Hungry’ advocacy.
- In 1977 I started a free bike program which was sustained for 15 years.
- Then, with a bike and trailer, I gave away 17 million lbs of food in 20 years.
- As a self-taught lawyer, I took nine cases to Alaska Supreme Court.
- I won another case when the 9th Circuit declared PDX camp ordinance unconstitutional.
