The Wiggles

 This was Emerson's third Wiggles concert and Langston's FIRST!  We were so excited to take them to this show.  We have been fans for many years now. :)  Langston loves them just as much as Emerson did. (He is kinda growing out of them now.)  Sad.

 I'm sure people thought we were extreme germophobes!  But, the reality was, we were just protecting our baby from allergens such as popcorn, etc. on the seats at the show.  I draped the chairs with a beach towel.  Worked out perfectly!  I know I make food allergy references quite often on my blog.  Please know that I am not complaining in the least bit.  I know our situation could be much, much worse.  It is just helpful for me to vent here at times and also to educate others.  Some people don't realize that food can be so dangerous for those that are allergic.  I've got to be on my toes every single day to keep Langston safe!

 I love their faces!  They just get in such awe of everything and seeing the Wiggles live! :)

 The Wiggles sing an amazing Food Allergy song.  After they performed it, they gave a little explanation about food allergies and how you should check with children or parents before feeding them.  Wow!  It was really WONDERFUL!  I even managed to clap as loud as I could during the silence immediately following.

I do believe this will be our LAST Wiggles concert ever! :(  These three are retiring after this tour. I really got tears in my eyes at the end of the show.  I know I'm a big dork.  Jeff, Greg, and Murray- we will miss you dearly!

Wedding Bells

 On July 28th, my sweet cousin Luke married Tiffany.  Here are my handsome men!

 Langston was a tad bit of a stinker during the ceremony!  He was being a little loud in the church!

 It was a very fancy reception.

 This night was especially stressful for Brian and I.  See the lunchboxes?  We had to carefully pack Langston a safe meal and snacks and keep him from coming in contact with any of the food.  It was truly a challenge.  We also had to consider his feelings about everyone eating different food than him.  Then, we had to worry about the little guy playing and dancing with the other kids that had just eaten the "unsafe food".  Next time, we may be skipping the reception of weddings in the future.  We try to maintain a "normal" lifestyle even with the food allergies, but sometimes it just isn't worth it.  There were appetizers, salads, a meal, and of course cake.  Yes, there were a few things "safe" for him, but we cannot take the risk of cross contamination in the kitchen.  This means he can't even have fresh fruit if not prepared in our kitchen at home.  We aren't just being overly cautious.  His egg and milk allergy are so severe he can't even come into contact with them.  :(

 This was from a long time ago...oops.  Melissa turned 35 at the end of June, and Brian turned 36 at the beginning of July!  :)

 I'm so happy to announce that Melissa just had surgery and is recovering so well!  She has finished all Chemo and is essentially cancer free now!  Amazing.  She still has radiation and reconstruction to go.  WOW!

 We've been to our property a few times, but it is SO HOT right now!

 This is my new haircut and color...I really like it.  I was ready for a change.  About three months ago, I did cut it shorter and put a few highlights in.  This time I went a little lighter. :)
