Our first winter snow in Arkansas. There are a lot of pictures and no words (you're welcome).

Jacob was convinced that because it snowed that it meant he was going to get Christmas presents. Probably because his only real experiences with snow were when we went to Utah for Christmas. I think he was a little disappointed but got over it quickly when they got to go outside and play.

Let the adventure begin....Part 1
So we obviously didn't learn enough with our first house build so we decided to do another. Here is a small glimpse (minus the blood, sweat and tears that were to graphic to display :) ) into our ongoing adventure.

Image
This is the top of our property.

Image
Here is the driveway. I like it better than all our other cement driveways.
Image
This is the front yard. The back and side yard all look about the same...trees beautiful trees.

Image
He spent many hours in our makeshift sand box when we bought too much sand by almost a trailer full.
Worked out nicely.

Image
The Pad!!! Not pictured is all the work and cutting of trees and clearing of land and bringing in of dirt it took to get this little pad here. Some how is seems worth it in the end. Kind of like childbirth.

One thing I have missed is seasons being in AZ. So this is what fall looks like, Hello Beautiful.

These pictures are of the dry creek that runs back behind our house, well dry unless it rains, which is yet another change. Who knew water actually came from the sky?

Image

Look, its plumbing and pipes and I helped.

Image

Pictured in red is the general contractor...he calls all the shots.

Image

I caaaan't hear yooooou. Typical with or without the ear plugs.

Image
Framing it up...such hard working boys.

Image
Almost one full wall.....

Image
He really is a trooper through all of this and is one hard working boy. If you ask him what he wants to be when he grows up he says "A worker". His daddy has taught him well about how fulfilling hard work can be.

Image

Image
So many things come to mind when I see this picture...like "thanks truss guys for putting those trusses up there, whats that you say? the walls are 3 inches off level, perfect that is exactly what I was hoping for a house that would fall over when I leaned on it or maybe a reverse pyramid. You don't see many reverse pyramids. Why you ask? Oh because it will fall over. You guys are super.......NOT!!!!!!!" Okay, sorry about that I will move on.

Image
The inside.

Image
I don't think I have ever loved a conveyor belt so much. I would have had buns of steel if we had to haul all those shingles up by hand...thank goodness that didn't happen and I got to keep my butt the way it was. On second thought maybe the ladder would have been best.

Image
The roof, the roof, the roof, is almost on.

THE END...Well not really this isn't even the beginning of the end but rather the end of part one on the blog.

Summer Fun

Misc. Happenings during the Summer Break 2011....

Image
Jacob pranking at 4....it's gonna be a long road. When I discovered this little beauty and asked him why he decided it was a good idea to put toothpaste all over the toilet seat he smiled up at me and said mischievously "So someone would sit on it." Of course....why didn't I think of that. Stinker!!!!

Lake Dardanelle
This was one of our favorite summer places. The kids and I came here quite a few times. It is absolutely beautiful there and has a really neat visitors center that the kids loved. This time we loved it extra because some of our very best friends were visiting with us.

The little boys....and the big boys.

Our visit to the Woods House...always a party!!
These kids have grown up together and have such fun when they are together.

Unsuccessful attempt at group pictures.

Pope County Library Summer Reading Program.
The library was one of our favorite places to visit during the summer...1. because it was cool in there, 2. because it is one of the few places I can get Jacob to lower his voice (notice I did not say whisper...he has no ability to whisper), and 3. because we all enjoy reading. Here Madison was chosen during reading time to participate in a competition girls vs. boys to see who could wrap the other in a roll of toilet paper the fastest. The girls rocked it!!

Water Park Trip with the Woods
Water parks have not be a big past time for the McCabe's. However we decided that we would give it a try now that the kids are all a little older and we would not have to be in such a panic the entire time. Turns out we actually loved it. Even the adults loved it. Even my husband loved it ;) It ended successfully with hot, exhausted kids with a day full of fun memories.

Image
Madison and Char...although Char looks like she is ready to ralph they did have a blast. And don't forget Cole Pow in the background snacking on chips, he hung in there with the best of them.
Image
Silly boys....these two get along so well and have many similar interests...Video games!!!
Image
Ahhhh.... who couldn't love a face like that.
Image
Such a cute boy.

Jacob showing the first signs of fatigue.

There is trouble....seriously they are.
