First Photo Shoot
The other day we got the chance to use our 7D like a professional. My sister needed some senior pictures. So, Katie, myself, and Megan took a field trip to Gardner Village and had some fun taking pictures. I did the picture taking. Katie did the hair, make-up, and wardrobe. Megan did the posing. Here is how it all turned out.

My New Project
Katie and I got a new camera with our tax return. The lovely Canon 7D!!! We got it so we could start working on some projects we have wanted to do as well as explore some new hobbies, like photography.
One project I have been wanting to work on for a while now is making a family history video. I wanted it to be more professional looking than a home video but not spend a ton on having someone else do it, or renting a ton of equipment as well.
The great thing about the 7D is that it takes phenomenal pictures as well as video. It is the best bang for your buck if you want to do both film and photography. The 7D hasn't caught on in popularity like the 5D, but it works just as well. A lot of directors and film students are using digital SLR's to make their movies and are producing a lot of neat stuff. Check out this link to see people's work using the 5D and 7D. http://vimeo.com/
Anyways, back to my project. So I have wanted to capture my family history in a more intimate way than just pictures and a long Word document for a long time now. I originally wanted to record both sets of grandparents on my H4 Zoom digital recorder and then edit it and make a nice CD for me and the family, but I got busy and grandma died and other things changed my priorities and I haven't been able to really get started.
Last General Conference I had a strong impression I need to get my project started before it is too late and the people I wanted to record and learn from are gone. So we bit the bullet and bought the camera and have now started the long awaited journey. I decided to up the quality of my idea one step by turning my audio project into a film project.
We started filming my dads parents last week. Here are some pictures of me setting up the shoot.

Once I edit the video I will post a little bit of it. I will also post some pictures so you can see how cool this camera is.

Our House
So, my Katie and I are excited to announce that we are buying a home!!!!! It is located out in Stansbury Park just west of Stansbury Lake. It is new home from FieldStone homes. It is located at the end of a cul-de-sac, Columbus Cir. on .23 acres. We are currently waiting for the permit to come back and have a tentative start date of April 27.
We went out to Stansbury the other day to take some pictures of our plot and the neighborhood so you guys can see what it looks like. Also if you would like to see what the house is going to look like here is a link to the model home on the utah realestate website. http://www.utahrealestate.com/971916
I tried to post some panoramic pictures of our plot and the neighborhood, but they were too big to post. If you would like to see them, email me and I will send them to you.
I will keep you guys up to date on the progress of the house. That means the I will have more than one or two posts this year. Yay!!!!!
