New Things Are Not Always Nice...

Been a while... I don't really find the meaning of posting a blog. Maybe because I don't know how to blog, but nevermind.

As some already know, I have stopped working at Häagen-Dazs a month ago. But even so, I still keep updated!!! Hahaha. Just yesterday, Häagen-Dazs launched it's new menu. Sounds good, right?

NO! IT'S FRICKIN' BAD!!! The prices have all increased! For example, a Triple Scoop without toppings used to be just RM19.90... Well, now it's RM25.90!! I still remember last time when I was in Standard 6, a Single Scoop was RM6.10 and a Double Scoop was RM 10.50. Now, RM 10.50 won't even get you a Single Scoop. To all who plan to go to Häagen-Dazs for Single, Double, or Triple Scoops, just buy a pint! It's a whole lot more worth it.

Here are some price changes:
Single Scoop (3 oz) - RM 9.50 -> RM10.90
Double Scoop (5 oz) - RM 15.90 -> RM 17.90
Triple Scoop (7 oz) - RM19.90 -> RM25.90
Pint (16 oz) - RM29.90 -> RM31.90

This really shows you how much more worthy it is to buy a pint. The only thing you would have to worry about is whether you can finish it before it melts, but you can always share. You can choose up to 2 flavours for pints so it's not like you have to eat only 1 flavour until you get sick of it.

There are some new Creations as well. I can't remember all of them but I'll name a few:

Seventh Heaven - 7 scoops of ice-cream (2 oz each) with many different fruits. Even though I haven't tried it yet, I'd say it LOOKS the best. Not worth it for the price though. -RM63.90

Brownie Explosion - Two scoops of ice-cream with small brownie cubes filling the emptiness of the plate and then drenched in warm chocolate sauce. Similar to the New York Brownie but come in smaller pieces, saving small amounts of precious energy by not needing to cut the brownie by oneself. -RM29.90

Berry Cool - A mixture of Raspberry Sorbet (3 oz) and Strawberry Ice-cream (2 oz), blended with Sprite and then topped with a scoop of Strawberry Ice-cream (2 oz). -RM23.90

Chocolate & Strawberry Crepe - 2 scoops of ice-cream and... yeah, crepe. -RM27.90

There's more but I can't remember so I will update this tomorrow or sometime soon. As for the older Creations, some have been removed and all the rest have increased prices. To all Fondue-lovers, the price has increased to RM63.90 per set, but i guess the RM4.00 increase is nothing compared to it's price.

As for my not-so-interesting life, in the past 2 weeks, I've had classes. What they teach is not exactly hard, the hard part is trying to stay awake. LOL.

Anyway, there's lots to do when I'm not having class, like playing pool or foosball(with a pool ball and about 4 missing players, but it's still fun). There's also a sports complex with tennis, badminton, basketball and squash courts, ping pong tables, and even a swimming pool. The scenery and atmosphere here is actually quite nice. It's just that I have to walk a lot since it's a BIG place.

However, like most Colleges, and maybe even Universities, the cafeteria food sucks... I usually eat Chicken Rice for lunch and skip dinner or have a few snacks from the convenient store.

It is also impossible to get good internet connection speed unless you pay RM300++(one semester) for the better internet service that they provide. I'd rather just play Dungeon Keeper II over and over again.

I will be ending my job at Häagen-Dazs at the end of this month. I have been accepted into the University of Nottingham - Malaysia Campus to undertake the course of Foundation in Engineering. I have actually fallen far behind my friends and my expectations of my future, but just WATCH ME NOW! I'll change the way of what everyone thinks that my future will be. I won't just pass and be normal. I WILL RULE!!!

Thank you to everyone who still has faith in me even though the number of people that do are expectedly few, close to zero, or zero itself.

The Shooting By A Star

For the past 2 months, I have been helping my friend Dev Anand to film videos of himself intending to show talent for a talent video competition. In the videos, I'm not really seen but thats alright with me. I'm mainly the advisor and cameraman. Advisor because I have experienced acting and cameraman because... well I'm just one of the few free crew members so I just do it. Anyway, Dev makes the ideas up and I just suggest ways of improving his ideas. A wide imagination he has and that has made him reach round 3 after producing 3 videos (Intro, Round 1: Glamour and Round 2: Passion). Round 3 will be about 'Fitness' and we all know he doesn't look fit, so it will be hard to get through this round.

Now, about Häagen-Dazs, we have a new boss who was transferred from QueensBay to replace our previous boss who left to continue her studies. He's not really a fun guy and has his own way of doing things but I think he knows what he's doing. We now close earlier by half an hour and cleaning has become more of our work than serving.

Häagen-Dazs is introducing a new Vanilla ice-cream flavour called 'Vanilla Caramel Brownie' which will only arrive at our Häagen-Dazs outlet in the middle of this month (March). Can't wait to try it but it's definitely going to be SWEET!

Here Comes The Money!! Huh...

Yay! My salary has arrived! RM54.38... RM54.38??? "WHYYY???" "This is for the one month duration that ends on Feb 15th" "Oh... I see." LOL. Well at least I still get monthly allowance from my dad. Enough to keep me alive for the month of March.

There will be two new trainees joining Häagen-Dazs in a few days time. Good news to me because when they start, I won't feel so NOOB anymore. But i think they will learn fast. So now, I only hope that my next salary doesn't leave my jaw hanging open without a smile.

Work, As It Gets Worse

CAUTION: Dry Ice May Fly.

First it's not knowing what to do, then it's getting told off by everyone (but these two things are the past), then i find out that one of the trainees is as lazy as hell, then Pulau Tikus Häagen-Dazs' tall and beautiful boss leaves to continue her studies, then I find out that the lazy trainee wants to work longer shifts... Work longer shifts? LOL? She treats Häagen-Dazs as a playground with free self-service ice-cream stalls!!! So she wants to work 2pm-12am now instead of 7pm-12am. Longer by 5 hours but her 5 hours is like my 1.5 hours! And, she wants to REPLACE one of our experienced seniors just to get that extra 5 hours! Not only that. During that extra 5 hours, there are only 3 people (including her) working. 2 of them are real proffesionals, BUT... One will be in the kitchen, the other will be handling the cashier. What is she trying to do??? ACT PRO??? That DAMN NOOB wouldn't even last half of that 5 hours, not including the other 5 hours of NIGHT TIME when it is alot more busy plus closing the outlet!!!

Anyway, maybe by then the seniors can start comment on her UNIQUE SKILLS of eating non-stop, not serving customers, getting orders wrong (she just got 2 or 3 orders wrong within 2 hours last night), and yeah, her UGLY FACE!! All eyes will be on her actions because I won't be there to take any blames. I'm sure she'll screw more things up tonight because it's SATURDAY NIGHT, AND... Today's my off-day =D Thank God I'm off today because working with that LAZY NOOB on saturday night will just get me more blames and more work to do since she doesn't wanna do anything except WAIT BY THE KITCHEN TO SERVE ORDERS. She obviously knows that customers lose their appetite just by catching a glimpse of her face.

Dry Ice!!

Yes. I have touched dry ice. What happened was something unexpected though. I just thought it would be super cold and that was all, BUT... I was wrong. At first, yeah it was cold. But after that it started to sting and so I let go (luckily). It's such a cool piece of solid that dissolves into thin air very slowly. This experience of mine is from Häagen-Dazs.

Work! Häagen Dazs! Work! Häagen Dazs!

It's been a while! I haven't been free enough to continue my blog for two weeks already but I'm free today! Recently, I started work at Häagen Dazs, Belissa Row in Pulau Tikus. At the start I thought it was going to be a boring part of my life. But as I got to know the other staff there, it just got better and better. Right now I feel that work is great! I get good exercise running up, down, in, out and everywhere, i get to see and talk to beautiful girls that come in to Häagen Dazs, I get to try all the ice-cream i want (but I don't), and best of all, I get paid to do all of that!!! The staff there are very friendly as well and that makes work fun.

So many new movies to watch, BUT... I'm low on cash. Guess I'll wait for payday and hope the movies will still be there or else I'll have to resort to buying DVDs. Currently on my 'To-Watch' list are... Jumper(1st Priority), Vantage Point, One Missed Call, and CJ7.

I just heard a Trance song called 'The Sound Of Nature Part 2' while I was in Häagen Dazs and couldn't wait to get the song in my own hands so i borrowed the CD and copied it into my computer. There were many other nice songs in the CD but that ONE song was the best.

Häagen Dazs... The one place for people to spend A LOT of money on a small bowl of chocolate with some fruits, tiny ice-cream balls and some biscuits.
