Xmas break, Fire, and a Missing Persons report

Well christmas break so far has been alright. the boy and i went on a date.. then ended things. its real confusing.
I went home for a few days... it was super boring.
Yesterday we had a flute reunion at my old lesson teacher's house. we had lunch and played christmas flute choir music. I MISS PLAYING SOOOOO MUCH.

I came to Denton last night and had fun with Gely, Dom, and Allison.. (and 2 of gely's friends)
When I came to Denton... I went to my room in my apartment... and it felt like home. When I go to my ACTUAL home, it doesnt feel like home anymore because my room is a storage unit to the entire family now, and i shower in my parent's bathroom because Katie is a slob and never learned to clean a bathroom... I always did it.. and she's dreaming big if she thinks im going to do it when i dont even live there. I just dont have my own space at that house anymore. I mean.. its still home because that is where my family is and my family is my everything... but I'm more comfortable up here...

Last night Angelica started a fire. She was making tacos.. but the shells in the oven.. and just forgot about them.
Angelica is cooking the meat and stuff on the stove and we see a glowing.. something... coming from inside the oven.
Gely opens the oven.. and the taco shells engulf in flames... not just some sparks and a small fire. LARGE FLAMES.
what does angelica do???
"OH MY GOD OH MY GOD ITS A FIRE ITS A FIRE"
and she runs to her room. she came back out 10 seconds later.. saw there was still the fire and ran back
(i learned that angelica is no good to have around in a crisis)

So what are me, Allison, and Dom doing in the meantime?
I knew the apt came with a fire extinguisher under the sink... guess what.. the sink is by the oven.
I went near the flames.... (shells are still in oven.. the flames were going above the stove top..) and I fished out that extinguisher from the back.
Im scared/in shock of everything that is happening so i am screaming for dom to put the fire out.
Dom is chill...
Allison comes over and extinguishes the fire...
The fire alarm is blaring through our apartment... smoke is EVERYWHERE. our throats are burning and we're coughing...

DOM says, (in his english accent) "Do you all want me to go get some more taco shells?"
Allison and I were like, "WHAT?!?! We dont care... we just need to get out."
we met our across the hall neighbors... they let us chill out there for a couple minutes till the alarm stopped
(thank god the sprinklers didnt go off)

While we're across the hall, We forget that Dom just left...
ps. he has no car here, doesnt know where anything is, and he didnt take his phone with him....
He just wondered out into the streets

We get our composure back and Gely starts freaking out again, "WHERE THE HELL IS DOM?!?!?!"
So she gets in her car and goes looking for him... like he's a lost puppy or something
Allison and i catch up on life waiting for dom to show up.. if he even comes back at all...
and HOUR later... we hear something hit our living room window...
Its Dom.. with a to go box full of Taco shells.

We call Gely and let her know the search is off...

absolutely ridiculous.

the rest of the night was fun.

a time for celebration... lots

so the break is finally FINALLY here. about time. now if i got what i wanted when grades come out... that would be great.

I have been celebrating the end of the semester since thursday night. I am exhausted. Why am I up at 5 in the morning? well... I have been taking a series of cat naps ever since my last final. haha

thursday night we had a celebration at our apartment. The next day I woke up way too early because we had several overnight guests and my roomie's parents came into town for her sister graduation. I had a date that day too. :) We went to see the movie Role models and then went to his friend's art show on campus. I ended up running into like 7 people i know so that was fun. That night i had palnned on doing some laundry, cleaning up my room, and making buckeyes... but I somehow got talked into going bowling that night with Cassie (roomie), Caroline (sister), caroline's boy Pierre, and 2 of carolines friends. it was fun, and afterwards we had an after party at our place.... Today I had to wake up early to make the buckeyes i didnt get to make last night, and I had to go to our annual Conn Christmas Party. last year i didnt get anything because i had recently graduated high school and i just assumed everyone thought i was too old to recieve presents. im totally cool with that too... but this year i somehow scored $60. saweeeeet. Came back to Denton instead of going home with my family. There was more celebrating to be done.

I got back to the apartment. The plan was to go dancing in Dallas tonight... I told them i needed to take a nap first. Cassie comes into my room later saying that instead of dancing we are getting greasy food and watching movies tonight. THANK GOODNESS because i was way to tired to go dancing.... And Angelica's boyfriend Dom came to America today! he's from England and I have only known him as a talking head in Gely's computer. It is great to finally meet him. he's hilarious and his accent is wonderful.

Now i have no plans for the next couple of days. I jsut want to chill slash try to find a good job. maybe hang out with that boy a little bit before christmas... who knows.

oh! tonight me and the roomies all exchanged christmas presents. I got a scarf and headbands from lisa, Cassie got me this sweet cocktail shaker, and angelica got me the book "Chock" by Chuck Palahniuk. Ive read the first 3 chapters already... its interesting, and i have been dying to read this for FOREVER.

I guess I'll attempt sleeping now.

3 more days

Well, just today alone I have spent a total of 9 hours studying and I'm not finished yet! I have my Biology final at 8:00 in the morning (sucks) and then My World Literature Final is also tomorrow at 10:30. These finals won't be so bad because they aren't cumulative, but they're still my hardest classes. Today I took my human development final online... i took it with 2 other girls, and it ended up taking us 5 hours to get all of our finals finished.... Even though my final was finished first, i still had to help the others... uhg. I had an hour to myself to watch Ellen, then two other girls came over to study for biology with me.

Thursday I have my Math final and then I'm FINISHED!!!! In order to make and A in math, I need to make a 100 on the final, and to have a B all i need to make is a 56... So the question is, do i study my booty off and get that A that is so far yet so close, or do i just save myself the stress and get the B??? I'm definitely going for the A, but if I make a 95 on the Final... he better bump me up because that's just no fair!

The weekend should be a LOT of fun. i can not wait to celebrate. I'm staying in Denton for most of Christmas break because I can't spend more than 3 days at home without losing my mind. I think my parents are going to let Ryan and Katie come up here and stay with me so that would be cool.

oh and i need a job.... so that will be my goal over the break: find a job in this terrible economy!!!!
