no makeup makeup.

Over the past weekend, I did a little relaxing and catching up on blogs and this has seriously been stuck in my head for days. I’m definitely not a beauty pro by any means, in fact, I find something and I stick with it for 5 years. So I feel like I’ve been trying to perfect the no makeup makeup look for years now and I finally have a little guidance!

Take it away amazingly beautiful british girl!

Best 15 minutes I’ve spent on Youtube in a while. I’m not going to lie, she says in here at one point to put whatever you put on your lips on your cheeks so that they are the same color. I’m assuming at this point she is talking about blush, because I’ve been putting chapstick on my cheeks for two days now and they are just greasy. haha. just a helpful tip in case you had the same idea I did (which I realize is not likely).

Happy Tuesday friends!

saturday.

Yesterday was pretty close to a perfect weekend day for us. What does the perfect Saturday look like in Charleston for Chris and Megan? Well, it involves a trip to Dewee’s with your family, fishing, eating Whole Foods, watching Carolina beat Clemson, and ending the day by falling asleep to Bottlerocket.

I went fishing for pretty much the 2nd or 3rd time in my existence, and I loved it! In fact, it was one of the most fun things I’ve done in a while. I could seriously fish every weekend, it was super relaxing and I caught 2 fish! Chris and his brother also caught one each and we were really excited to say the least!

I’m going to go ahead and say that Chris was probably the most proud of me that he’s ever been for reeling it all the way in. It was a good day for our marriage. Especially because Chris’s was one inch bigger than mine. And fatter. He eluded to that fact many times the rest of the day…

So any takers for more fishing? Sarah Sass, I will go with you any day of the week!

a fun start to the summer.

Where do I even start to recap last weekend?

Things have been pretty busy around here in May, primarily with work, and so we were beyond excited when our friends rolled in for a long weekend! And for good reason… I’ll let the pics below do the talking!

Our good friends Ryan and Stephen are getting married in July and I’m going to go ahead and say this is one of the most fun/laid back wedding parties I’ve been to in a while ever. If this speaks anything of the wedding to come, I’m definitely excited!

Yes, I’m going to go ahead and make a blanket statement and say it was a good time had by all! Before we jumped, I squeezed Rachel’s hand and told her she was my best friend! I felt like I was seriously 15 again, swimming in our clothes in the summer. It’s an understatement to say I love all of the people above. It’s so nice to be reunited with all your people and to just feel at home.

The rest of the weekend didn’t disappoint catching up with old friends and celebrating a birthday. Since May has been lots of work for Chris and I, it was so great to just unwind and hang with good friends again.

So happy first of June friends… lots of excitement to come!

summer favorites.

Image

With summer quickly upon us, I’ve been super inspired by lots of color and graphics this year. It’s also a major time of gift giving, so I thought I’d put together some stuff that would be perfect for birthdays, mother’s day, and just because presents! I’m always really inspired and admire other people’s designs and all of the above are serving as my current inspiration.

awesome.

ImageHave you guys ever heard of “may the 4th be with you”? Where Star Wars fans & lovers celebrate the official Stars Wars Day? Chris told me about this over the weekend, since people at his work were celebrating last week, and then I stumbled upon this illustration by Gemma Correll, and totally laughed out loud. This idea is so awesome/hilarious/new to me and I seriously love the nerdy-ness of it. How funny… have you heard of this or have I been under a rock??

a thought to live by.

Image

How true! In the hustle and bustle of going to work everyday and endless to-do lists, how much are we, how much am I, missing all the gifts that are laid out in front of me daily?  This quote is from a great book I’ve been reading, One Thousand Gifts, and it too is changing my heart daily page by page. It is a constant reminder of all the blessings and gifts of all shapes and sizes that are there for us to either take note and enjoy or bypass. I want to slow down and live/be more in the present. I love the idea that  the secret to living a full and free life is eucharisto (thankful/gratefulness), in all circumstances.

happy monday friends!

happy weekend friends!

I’ve been meaning to post about this all week, but last weekend I went to Greenville to celebrate a little baby shower for my best friend, Allison who is due in May!! She is seriously a gem and she’s also one of those girls that you’ve always known is going to be a great mom one day…

A couple of our friends from high school all went in together and threw her a baby shower. It was such a fun day to see everyone and to celebrate Allison and her growing family to be!

Here are just a few details… I wish I would have gotten more photos, but I’m excited to see more from Christine!
