Rendezvous
Today we ventured to Weston to checkout a rendezvous put on by some family friends. I was fortunate enough to spend lots of hours with this family during my teenage years so it was so fun to be back with them for a while just hanging out

Visiting the trading post, they created a necklace and traded for goods

Noah “traded” for this awesome giant arrowhead. He was so excited to be able to attend this today, he learned about rendezvous at school but COVID-19 canceled the field trip to visit the rendezvous held yearly in our county.

And we are back!
Hello blog world is anyone still out there?!!
I hope so because I have decided I miss our blog for keeping track of our life.
How has life changed since I last blogged? Well.....
Noah was 4, he is now 10
Lily was 2 months she is now 5
Mark was a pilot with Envoy he now flies for the airbus with American Airlines.
Emily was a medical assistant for a family practice doctor she is now a medical assistant for a palliative care provider and mostly works from home.
I had thoughts of trying to catch up the last 5 years and decided that was silly so we’ll just pick up here.
Welcome back friends! Mark, Noah, Lily and Emily
Lets try this again....
At the end of February, before my maternity leave ended, we decided a trip was in order to visit Fifields in California. I was nervous as this was the first time flying with both the kids and Lily's first flight ever (2 month olds don't generally have much flight experience). Mom H was kind enough to drive us down to the airport which eased my anxiety greatly about traveling alone. The flight caused a little anxiety but the thoughts of parking the car, unloading everything and than getting on a bus to the terminal and finally off the bus with everything made me want to cry and not go. By being dropped off I was able to strap Lily in the stroller which left one had free to pull a suitcase and Noah was able to pull the other. We made it in the terminal with no incident ,, Mom H said I looked like I knew what I was doing even if on the inside I was panicking.
We made it to the plane, on the flight with no incident
Saturday we had decided we wanted to visit the Giffith park observatory, we did not take into consideration that there was a star gazing party going on the night and well it was a nightmare. We ended up going to the LA zoo instead.
I sure love this best friend of mine, so glad 10 years ago I moved into her apartment and that 8 years ago we married cousins!
Ever since Florida last year Noah has been in love with Zebra's, this zoo didn't disappoint and had zebras for him to watch.
We ended our day at the gift shop, Noah decided he wanted binoculars to take home after our fun day at the zoo.

Noah has always been a great traveler so him doing well on the flight was no surprise. Lily seems to have followed in her brother...so far.... and did great on the flight. I took sugar water to put on her binky so she would suck during take off and landing....it worked great!
Landed, happy and waiting for Aunt Kristin
We started our weekend of fun by getting pizza and going to Axton's school to watch Big Hero 6. 2nd time around, Noah still loved it and watch the whole thing.
Mark was suppose to join us shortly after we arrived but Mother nature had different plans and he got iced in somewhere in Texas..I can't remember where. Field Trip
Today Noah's preschool went to one of the local firehouses on a field trip. Noah LOVES firetrucks so he thought this was awesome. Lily and I got to go along.
They had taken the stretcher out so the kids would fit. When he was done teaching them he said someone could ride it back in, Noah was a bit hesitant but the only child interested at all so he got to. The firemen were so good with the kids
Safety first must wear a seat belt always.
Next onto the big fire truck. One other girl sat in the seat but when he asked her to turn the lights on she was out of there, Noah was all about it
Showing him what he did
Noah got put on the oxygen also, he said it wasn't heavy because he was as strong as a fire fighter.
Exploring the truck and seeing where they control the water
One of the firemen showed the kids how they get outfitted to fight a fire
He let them try to poke his eyes to show them how strong the mask was
They spent lots of time talking to the kids about how they won't look like themselves if they ever have to rescue them but to come to them because it is still them. I hope we never have to call them but I am glad to know we have such great firefighters in our neighborhood and that Noah knows what they will look like in an emergency
