A line from Shane MacGowan
Behind an old wooden door is a hallway handmade from reclaimed timber, denailed by hand with the help of WD-40 & olive oil. The character of the wood is its essence; the presence of knots may decrease the strength of the wood but in- creases that essence, highlight- ing those lines that run in differ- ent directions to overwhelm the faded pictures in the hallway.

Liminal space beckons. Is filled with fresh-cooked bagels that I know can't be real because they smell too good. I am standing at the top of a stairway that leads down to the local rail station. All I can see are steps & a sign on the wall that says This way to the Led Zeppelin concert & looks out of date. The smell of bagels comes up from the bottom of the stairs: there are no signs of trains or tra- velers; that emptiness is both imminent & fragrant disconcerts.

tendon tension
Fatigue doesn't eliminate risk. Be-
gin with squats. The kettlebell
goblet squat is a compound move-
ment. You can try to download
the Canary Version even though
it kicks off another download &
releases a new set of definitions
every 3-4 hours. It might pay to
use the Save PDF option on the
page, then soak in warm water &
apply zinc oxide ointment if the
food noise comes back. My watch
has been focused on elevating my
data infrastructure now terrorists
have sought to divide the country.
My critique of their activities is
confusing, even though I have up-
dated it several times. Apologies
for any remaining typos. Federal
agents arrived & arrested them as
I was otherwise engaged, watching
Taylor wearing a Forme Power Bra.

another Local Library note
The books are packed
so tightly together
on the library shelves
that the only things
about them that will
be easy to read
are their titles &
the authors' names.

Air-conditioners are on all through the house.
I am back into book-editing mode.
A Globemaster makes cumbersome circular training runs in the outside air.
The house shakes.
Which activity is causing it?
I break for lunch.

Dialogue Revealed by the Wind
A wind, a cold wind has come
Arthur Miller: The Crucible
"Nakedness has a way of showing
itself," she said. "If not the wind, then
some other act of nature. Though is it
natural that we should be standing
here, headless, legless, words that
usually describe some condition of
drunkeness? & is standing the right

Now out from Sandy Press
Just released from Sandy Press.
Mark Young
From the Cave's jukebox [Some more Tom Beckett Titles]
Sandy Press
ISBN: 979-8-9924582-6-8
Prices: $US 10.00 (paperback); $US6.00 (Kindle)
URL: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FZ2486MH
Rediscovered during Mark Young's trawling through past posts & pages while putting together an introduction to his 2024 compilation, 100 Titles From Tom Beckett, was another list of Beckett titles, this time a blog post containing sixteen titles that were later augmented by a further twelve to become a 'fragment' in his 2015 APPEARANCES; A NOVEL IN FRAGMENTS. Tom described them as "… titles of imaginary songs that appear on an imaginary jukebox in an imaginary bar called the Cave, a very special club house for the legendary performance art group Vaudeville without Organs."
A comment from Young on the blog post indicates that he had seen them; but, unlike earlier instances from 2003 onwards, had not acted on them. That just might have turned out to be a good thing; because instead of sixteen titles being dispersed amongst various collections, it is now possible to present all the poems derived from those songs on that imaginary jukebox in a single volume, From the Cave’s jukebox.

We dance. Either by
moon- or candlelight.
We dance, The snow be-
gins to fall. I put on my
bowler hat, you make sure
your shoes are on tight.
We dance, on the ceiling,
treat the snow as if it were
the sands of the desert &
we under acacia trees.
We dance until a thunder-

along. I eat an egg. You
drink a glass of water.
We dream.
