With our wedding only 3 days before Christmas, and given our situation at the time, we were unable to really go on a honeymoon. We stayed in Salt Lake City for a few days, but that doesn't really count. We decided to go on our belated honeymoon around our 6 month anniversary and we decided to go to DISNEYLAND!!! We absolutely love Disneyland and we were just like little kids around Christmas time we were so excited!
I couldn't wait to get away with the man I love. I was looking forward to an entire week spent with just the two of us with absolutely no worries. We left on June 22 (6 months to the day!) and drove the first leg of our trip, Orem, UT to Mesquite, NV where we stopped for the night. On our way to Mesquite we stopped in Cedar City to say hello to my best friend since birth, Lilly! It was so good to stop and see her even though it was a super short visit (she was at work, but she gave us some delicious bread so that rocked). We also had a lot of time to kill before we could check into our hotel in Mesquite that we decided to see a movie while in Cedar. We ended up seeing Monsters University, and we loved it! Then we headed to Mesquite. Sunday morning we left bright and early and drove to California! We arrived in Anaheim too early to check into our hotel so we drove down to Laguna Hills, CA to visit with my Aunt and Uncle! It was so good to see them and finally introduce my husband to them. After our visit we headed to the BEACH!!!! I absolutely LOVE the water. Lakes, rivers, streams, ponds, the ocean, any water feature I love. One thing that I was dying to do on our trip was go to the beach and my sweet husband made it happen!

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we spent at the happiest place on earth...DISNEYLAND and California Adventures! It was my first time ever going to California Adventures and I loved every minute of it! I got sunburnt on the first day and my husband laughed at me. He told me he had never seen anyone who burns like I do. I am a very white girl...deal with it. :)
Our first day at the parks was spent mainly at California Adventures practically doing everything there was to offer! We rode Toy Story Mania several times and Michael kicked my trash every. single. time. No matter how fast I tried to shoot my gun or how well I thought I did, Michael did better. I don't know how he does it. It was still fun though! The new Cars land was AMAZING! We loved the Radiator Springs Racers ride and loved strolling along through Radiator Springs! It was so cool and looked just like the movie. We loved it!

Our second day at the parks we spent mostly at Disneyland! We had an admission to magic morning so we got to go to Disneyland an hour before the parks opened. I loved it! We rode every ride we could and had a blast! I was pretty sunburnt from the first day so I did my best to cover up so it wouldn't happen again. The day was quite the adventure though, we ended up losing my park ticket right around the time Fantasmic was playing and that was stressful trying to retrace our steps all over the park trying to find it. We didn't find it, but we were able to get it replaced so we could both enjoy our third and final day at the parks.

After we figured out the whole ticket situation we decided we would go on Splash Mountain around 11 p.m. (Disneyland closes at midnight) because there wasn't a long line. After we finished our ride Michael talked me into riding it again, this time doing the Single Rider line. Michael went ahead of me and I got onto the ride six or seven logs behind him (I finally got onto the ride at 11:40 p.m.). The entire ride was stop and go due to a log jam ahead that they couldn't quite figure out. We finally made it to the top of the ride right before the hill before the big drop when we collided into another log and stopped. Looking ahead there were about seven logs stopped in a line. We made it to the log jam. We were stopped for about 30-45 minutes before someone came over the intercom saying that the ride was broken and they couldn't fix it. We had to wait in our logs until a worker came and helped us out and escorted us out of the ride. It was pretty cool though because the turned on all the lights so we got a great look at behind the scenes Disney! The not so cool part was almost the entire time we were stuck the song "Everybody has a laughing place" was playing over and over and over. If I never hear that song again it will be too soon. The entire time we were stuck I was hoping Michael was stuck too. He was so far ahead that I had no idea if he was still on the ride or waiting outside the ride wondering what happened to me. Luckily he was the very first boat on the log jam and I was in the very last boat. We finally got off the ride around 12:40 a.m. We can officially cross off getting stuck on a ride at Disneyland off our bucket lists! Needless to say, day 2 was one to remember.
Our third and final day at the parks we spent at both parks hitting all the rides we wanted to go on again and saw Fantasmic. Day 3 was easily the hottest day and I managed to get FRIED! All of the pictures from the third day I look like a tomato. Oh well. It happens. At least Michael thought I was a cute tomato. :)

When looking back at all the pictures taken on the rides, we noticed that I have the same face in almost every single one.
Thursday morning we packed up and headed back to Mesquite. Friday, after a very successful first trip together, we headed home. It was so much fun to plan and go on our first vacation together as a couple. I loved every minute of it (even though I got so sunburnt and our feet hurt!). I look forward to many more wonderful adventures together and with our future family!
