To laugh or not to laugh...

As a mom, there are moments throughout the day where my kids make me laugh, and that's ok. There are also moments when I want to laugh, but shouldn't. Like when they disobey and it's kind of funny but I have to discipline them or when they get scared or hurt and they are sad, but it's still kind of funny. I must not laugh. Today was one of those moments but in the first time in a looooooooooooong time, I could not contain my laughter no matter how inappropriate.

Here's the story:

Hannah is learning about Venus. We did a lava experiment today with flour and butter. After pouring hot butter on top of a custard dish into flour, you are supposed to walk away and wait a few hours.

Fast forward a few hours:

Hannah: Mom!!!!!!!! Come quick! Lillian needs you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lillian: wwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh bbbbbbbbooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooooooooooooo

I do...

As stated earlier this year, I have been on a path of rediscovery. I just felt the Lord tugging on my hand and I willing went (after a wee bit of resistance) Along the way, I found a girl who no longer finds her happiness through the approval of others. I found a girl who knows she is loved and loves back with every fiber of her being.

Through this journey, the Lord through in a few curve balls. Among those was the calling to homeschool, a mission trip to serve in South East Asia, 15 pound weight loss, a few tears, a bunch of smiles and a surprise vow renewal ceremony in honor of our 10th anniversary!!!

He asked and I said yes. I would marry him over and over again if necessary. By our sides, stood 2 amazing friends who have been constant rocks in our lives over the last few years. My sweet NKL, thank you for your lessons in Grace and Love.

My life is a puzzle. The Lord has already created the pieces to my puzzle and they are falling into place. Along the way, I may have tried to take pieces away or add a few that don't belong.

This year, I learned that I am not in control of my puzzle. The Lord is and what a beautiful, perfect puzzle it is.

The girls started swim lessons the first of June. Hannah took off and made tons of progress with her strokes and endurance. Lillian...not so much. She actually regressed from last year and wouldn't even put her face in the water!!!!

Enter Michael Phelps. Lillian: How does he swim so fast.  Me: He puts his face in the water.

Not only did she immediately start going under water...she started full on swimming.

I just returned from my mission trip to South East Asia and this is the best way to sum it up.

What's going on in my world these days...

My goal for the mission trip wasn't only met, but exceeded by $600!!!!! HE is faithful. Always.

I'm singing at a Coffee House...with a band. That makes me giggle a little. I'm a guest female lead for Cafe Expressions on June 16, 8-10 p.m. at Land of a Thousand Hills in Roswell. Come out a support little ole, terrified me:)

I also met me weight loss goal a couple months back...that's good. Yay me.

On a Mission...

Thank you so much for your donations and prayers! Our group is becoming closer and closer and our curriculum is almost set and ready to go! Our group is split into therapists and teachers. I am in the teacher group but have also become the Worship gal:) So pray for me as I select songs, activities and write a script for each day of worship for both orphanages our team will be working at.

Another specific prayer request in for my faith that God will provide the money needed. I am so close! I only have $1055 to go!!!! and until June 3 to raise it.

Lesson #7: Mush Warning

Ryan loves me. Crystal. Crystal Casey.

I'm hard on myself. I make mistakes and carry them with me. I even nicknamed myself "the messerupper". I felt I could do nothing right. The anxiety, fear, of failing was too much. How could Ryan love that? He's not a messerupper. He seems to get more things "right" than I do. It was overwhelming for me.

That's when God stepped in with Lesson #7.

I'm not a messerupper. I'm human. I make mistakes. I trip. I can't keep my car clean to save my life. I forget things. Lose things. Stuff mail in weird places. Burn bread.

I'm Crystal Casey. Wife. Mom. Daughter. Friend. And most importantly, a child of God who was created just as God saw fit.

He planned for me to marry Ryan Casey and become the mother of Hannah and Lillian Casey as a part of His plan.

I can't be perfect. It's hard for me not to give up or to just not try if I can't be perfect at something, but I'm not Jesus. I can't be perfect. No one can. My husband know that and I think I might know that too:)

I just received word over the last 24 hours of the death of a friend's mother and the death of a friend's child. My heart is heavy.
