Life Through My Lens - A river runs through it....

In the Spring I shared some pictures how the river that is our town's namesake appeared. I snapped a few more photos recently and the difference is striking.

Life Through My Lens - Moonrise over the Book Cliffs...

Image
Moonrise over the Book Cliffs
As I drove home from school today this is what I saw.
(Sadly, it looked much more impressive in person....)

As I was posting this, I got to thinking about a few of the other photos I've posted recently, like those here , here , here, and here. Some I am satisfied with - others leave much to be desired. I suppose there is a little of the perfectionist in me that wants every photo I take to be a masterpiece, even though I know that is impossible.

On another note...
This week is Principal Appreciation week. Here is a sweet gift from the Kindergarten class and their teacher. The flowers are from her garden. I thought it was very kind of them. And I loved the flowers. (My office smells wonderful right now because of the flowers' wonderful fragrance.)

(If you look at the envelope closely, you'll see one of the names my students call me because if you say Miss Durrant quickly... that's EXACTLY how it sounds... ) :-)

One misty, moisty, morning....

Fall is definitely here. I woke up this morning to frost on my yard and low lying mist near the Book Cliffs. The photos don't do it justice, but I tried to capture the feeling...

Life Through My Lens - As high as an elephant's eye....

It may not be Oklahoma, but it has a charm of it's own....

Autumn moments...

On my way through Spanish Fork canyon last weekend autumn colors were beginning to appear.
Here is a sampling of what I saw.

Late Autumn
by William Allingham

Image

October - and the skies are cool and gray
O'er stubbles emptied of their latest sheaf,

Image

Bare meadow, and the slowly falling leaf.
The dignity of woods in rich decay

Image

Accords full well with this majestic grief
That clothes our solemn purple hills to-day,

Image

Whose afternoon is hush'd, and wintry brief
Only a robin sings from any spray.

Image

And night sends up her pale cold moon, and spills
White mist around the hollows of the hills,

Image

Phantoms of firth or lake; the peasant sees
His cot and stockyard, with the homestead trees,

Image

Islanded; but no foolish terror thrills
His perfect harvesting; he sleeps at ease.
