Guess who came into town to visit????
Guess who was SUPER excited about it!?!?!?!
Stop.
Just. Stop.
Rehearsal dinner slideshow opening picture.
Buddies giggling in the water tunnel.
When you live in Texas, you bring your swimsuit everywhere and are always prepared to take advantage of pretty, decorative water features.
Emily, always the encourager, cheering on the neglected plant Pluto.
Learning about water pressure , gravity, and energy.
Note: one girl vs. two boys.
Rock on, sister.
All I see here is Emily in a hot tub.
Is that weird?
Josh and his school buddies got together on July 3rd to prepare their school's float for our neighborhood parade. What a bright and festive group of kids.
While Chris and Josh worked on the school float, Emily, The Jones' and I waited patiently for the parade to begin. It is always such a great morning in our neighborhood!
We were SO lucky Uncle Steven shared the Jone's boys (and mama) with us for the July 4th holiday. We loved having friends to cheer on the parade, chase after candy, and await Josh as his float passed us.
And, finally here it comes!
Josh and his MPE friends had so much fun tossing candy to the crowds and chatting " MPE! MPE!" as their float and trailer made it's way down the packed street.
(There is Josh in the red Rangers Baseball Cap).
Sweet Emily learned how to blow a pinwheel from a nice old lady sitting by us.
This little girl sure does know how to capture the hearts of others.
What a treat! Aunt Ginger came to the parade!
We love having Aunt Ginger around!
In 40 years when Johnny is fussing about his wife, Emily, always bossing and pushing him around...
we can show his this picture.
She was adamant that she push Johnny in his stroller.
She sure loves that little cutie.
After the parade, at the carnival, Josh and Emily were reunited and this is the result.
LOVE them and their love for each other.
Nothing beats this.
Nothing.
After a sad good-bye, a long, much-needed nap, and a nice little mid-day thunder storm,
we went to the pool.
Something about the holiday made Emily brave and independent and thus...
going down the blue slide for the first time this season by herself.
And, I swear, she wouldn't stop.
And, now. always talks about it!
"I go down Blue slide!"
"I no like Red Slide!"
When Josh was 2.5 years old, we kept him up for the first time to see fireworks.
We thought it only fair, we do the same for Emily.
Honestly, I thought it was going to be a disaster.
She HATE loud things, surprises, bounce houses, sudden movements.
All things that elicit awe and wonder... Emily dislikes immensely.
I think she will be a scientist.
Anyway, I digress... fireworks ended up to be a success!
" BOOM!"
Sitting on top of Daddy's truck!
Look closely.
This was the moment she saw her first firework explode.
Priceless.
And this was Josh's first time (2009) to see fireworks.
I have made a duplicate child, just in pink this time.
