MIT AI Filmmaking Hackathon is one of the first ever hackathon focusing on AI and filmmaking around the world.
This pioneering event was founded in 2023 by MIT Filmmakers Association.
The 2024 event attracted approximately 400 participants and professionals from local institutions such as MIT, Harvard University, and Berklee College of Music, in addition to those traveling from New York City, Los Angeles, and international locations like the UK, Canada, and China. Over the course of two days, the hackathon featured a filmmaking competition, a series of software tutorials, and panel discussions with around 40 panelists, including tech industry leaders, film directors, AI researchers, and legal experts.
Our goal is to provide a platform for students, AI researchers, artists, film industry practitioners, entrepreneurs to discuss and explore how AI is shaping the future of film industries as well as the related content creation fields.
We are always eager to welcome like-minded visionaries—students, scholars, creators, developers—to join our organizing committee!
