Defeated Fall 2010

We had unusually warm weather this Fall at Defeated! It was wonderful! A lot of us were actually in shorts during the day! It still got chilly at night, but the days were great! I think its just gonna keep getting to be more and more fun year after year for the kids. John said next year we'll be able to turn Mitchell loose, mommy says I don't think so! We did our usual...eat, play, carve pumpkins, and have fun! This year we played "Minute To Win It" It was definetly the highlight of this years trip! There were some very funny moments and almost everyone got in on the fun and played!

I should have put this after the pics of us carving, but i didn't want to start all over. But this is our pumpkin for the year. I love how the kids are all excited about carving, then after about 10 minutes they are off doing something else, so us moms are left doing all the work! I enjoy it though! :)

Halloween 2010

Yes, I know its almost Christmas, but i decided that I'd better post this or it would never get done! This year the Carey family went with the Popeye theme. Although Shelby and I got called "amish" and "pentecostal" a couple times! HAHA Mitchell was Popeye, John was "Brutus/Bluto" (aka the bad guy) I was Olive Oyl and Shelby was Sweet Pea! We had a lot of festivities going on during Halloween time! The first pics are at "Cow Chip Bingo/Trunk or Treat at John's school.

This was Halloween Night at my Aunt Marty's house. Here's most everyone (besides us) that was dressed up! Maggie-the Mad Hatter, Chelsea-Alice, Sweet Pea, Makyna the cow, Aunt Marty the Queen of Hearts, JoAnna-Spock, then Mitchell and Drew!

Well I must first admit that I've not been the best mom when it comes to sending out Christmas cards. I know, i know, shame on me, but i guess i've just never taken the time! Happy Birthday Shelby!

Well today my sweet little girl is one. It's really hard to believe. It's been a great year. A little rough at first with the reflux & colic, but we survived with a lot of walking the halls and bouncing! We are thankful for her good health this first year and hope she continues to be healthy! (Although I am realistic-I know brother will bring home many germs from starting upMDO again)

She's always smiling. Even strangers comment on how happy and smiley she is. She's walking everywhere now, but still crawls when she wants to get somewhere a little faster. She's not liking shoes though, but fall/winter is approaching so she's gonna have to get used to them or freeze those little piggies off.

She still doesn't have that much hair, but it's growing. Hopefully we'll be able to put it in a ponytail soon-her mommies favorite way of wearing her hair! :)

She's also starting to develop a little attitude, which i know I had as a baby. Thats why they called me the "mean machine" :) If her brother takes something away from her, she'll just scream as loud as she can. I guess thats her way of telling me that brother is not being nice!

Shelby is over 11 months now, but mommy is running a little behind on things these days!
Shelby @ 11 months...
-you started taking 4-5 steps at a time last Thursday. You are very cautious though and when you loose your balance you go back pretty slow like you are doing squats.
-you are loving your table foods. Still haven't turned anything down yet!
-you like your sleep at nighttime. You got to bed at 8 and usually don't wake up until 8:30-9!
-you aren't interested in the tv at all. Your brother at this age was mesmerized!
