Tooth Fairy Comes to the Hausen's

Well, I can add another job description to my resume. Elena had a wiggly tooth for about 2 weeks. She loved it. Every night she would talk about it and want me to pull it out for her. But when I would try she would Chicken Out! I had to explain to her that bleeding for this cause, was in fact, good for her. And here is the sad part. Don and I can already tell she is going to need braces. I am not talking about for a few months, it will probably be for a long time. Poor kid! She got that from her aunts and uncles. I had braces for an over bite. I only had to wear them for a short time. Don has never had to have them. But on both sides, we have people with braces for YEARS! Here is a picture with Elena wiggling her tooth.ImageShe pulled the tooth out!

Potty Training?

Hyrum has really wanted to go potty. So I decided to at least let him try. Hey, it is not my carpet yet! We went to walmart and got him a potty. He loves it! It makes a song every time he wee wees. Even if he doesn't get it completely it will mean less accidents in our new house. He really is young to be potty training, but how can I tell him "no"! In these pictures he is on the potty and eating a corn dog. He decided to stick the corn dog on his finger instead of on the stick. Image
ImageAlright, here is the background for this picture. I was doing a quick 10 minute pickup before Don got home. I thought I would clean the whole time with the kids helping. Hyrum started crying to get his diaper changed, and I called Adelyn to come help me. I tell Hyrum I will change him in just a minute and Adelyn comes running full speed and hits the doorway. Don walks in the house. Moral of the story is that picking up makes life worse! !)
Image
ImageI haven't had a lot of time to do fun things lately. We will be closing less then 2 weeks now and I am soooo busy. My picture taking has been on hold. I even got a new photo editing software and I haven't even tried to use it. I can't wait to get into the new house.

Christmas Nativity Spectacular

A stake down here puts on this great activity for families and friends. They decorate the church REALLY nicely and put hundreds of nativities in it. There are refreshments, an art project for kids, people and groups come and sing, a group nativity picture, the church's nativity video, and a story time for the kids(about the nativity). It is just great! But these first pictures are not about that. Don really wanted me to take this picture. I was kind of not wanting too. I remember having a picture that my family made fun of me for and this is a good one for Hyrum. I ended up ripping it and throwing it a way with nobody to stop me. Now I wish I had it! ;) I just can't help but laugh at it.
ImageThese are my favorite things right now about our new house.
Image
ImageHere are the pictures from the nativity event. Firstly, we got there way too early so we wasted time by going out to eat. The food was great and the company was better.
ImageThe kids just had to have a potty break after eating. So instead of enjoying the event they went to the bathroom first.
Image Here we are listening to someone play Christmas music and Adelyn finds a friend. Jaxon is dancing to the music and Hyrum, well I don't know exactly want he did. He just seemed to bob around and try everything. Play with Adelyn and her friend then go dance with Jaxon and then whine to me.
ImageThe art project was coloring a sticker nativity scene.
ImageI put the sticker on Hyrum's nose and he did not take it off. I think he liked it there.
ImageJaxon decided that it was a cool fashion statement and followed suit.
ImageAdeyln really wanted to be Mary in the picture. We had just watched the video and she was overjoyed to be Mary. Of course she thought it was to put on a show and not just a picture. We will have to put on the show as a family on Christmas eve.
ImageThe process to get them all ready was not so much fun. Hyrum wanted the angel clothes and the big shepherds cane.
ImageHere is the end result and the last picture for today. I thought that would be fitting. I hope you all have a GREAT HOLIDAY SEASON!

Thanksgiving (and of course Football)

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend. We enjoyed having family around for the holiday. We went to Kevin and Jenna's house for the Thanksgiving dinner. I spent all morning pretty much cooking. Don went to play football with his brothers and people in the ward. I guess they were all on the same team and lost every game. They had one person from the ward on their team and he asked to be switched to another team. HA HA! At least Don has a little bit of motivation to get into shape now. Here is a picture of the Thanksgiving pies we ate. Jenna made the one with the finger swipe in it. Carter decided to take a early taste. I am sure it was just to check to see if everything was ok. ;)
ImageThese next pictures are from the aftermath of the dinner.
ImageI just love the contrast between Don and everyone else.
ImageHere Kevin got down and played with the kids. They love uncle Kevin!
Image
ImageYou know I don't know why Don put that on his head. HMMM.....maybe I shouldn't claim him.
ImageThis picture was taken after we got home. Don enjoyed cuddling Elena. She doesn't always let us anymore. She is way too old for that!
ImageNow on to the BYU vs. Utah game pictures. These first pictures were originally taken to occupy the boys for a little while. They were getting restless and wanted attention so I grabbed them and took some shoots.
Image
Image
ImageAt first the game was slow and close, everyone was tense and concentrating on the game.
ImageBut as you can see here we ended up winning the game in the last minute and a half.
Image
ImageI just wish my camera took pictures fast. It takes forever to actually take it. I bet it is a 5 second delay. By that time all the good reactions are over with. Sigh. Thanks everyone for reading!

My Little 6 Year Old!

You know everyone always tells you how time goes by fast. That the time you have all the little ones at home is short. But when you are in that time it seems like forever. And to be honest it is hard! It is a great time, but for me having three at home was definitely hard. Now that Elena is in school and my youngest is 2 my life is easier. I feel like now I mourn the younger years of Elena. I love her so much it hurts to know she will not always be that little toddler.
Well enough of the sadness, it was Elena's birthday. And that is something to celebrate not mourn. We did have fun! We were just going to have a little party for her with family and close friends, but everyone was sick or busy. So we had just our family to celebrate with her. She was so excited for her birthday. She got to open her cards from her great grandma Valeri and from her grandma Hausen. We took her to the store and bought her presents from them. She got to pick what was for dinner and the kind of cake. I actually let her pretty much make it this time. Then we got a movie to watch which she picked out. Though Adelyn did help influence her. Dinner, movie, presents, cake, and phone calls was the order of the events for the party. So here are the pictures I ended up taking. Thank you everyone for the presents and the love you give my oldest child. I love her and am happy you all do too!
Image
ImageThis is how the cake blowing went. We are singing the happy birthday song to her in this photo.
Image Now she is making her wish.
ImageHere is the BIG Blow!
ImageShe didn't get all of them in the first blow.
ImageThis photo is her talking to family members who called and wished her a happy birthday. She really enjoyed this. It added so much to her feeling special so thank you again. :)
ImageThis is my little wonderful moment.

Pioneer Homestead

This first picture is of Hyrum with his p.b. and jelly sandwich. Here is the scoop on that picture. In the morning I always help Elena with her lunch. On this morning, Hyrum decided he wanted a little sandwich in a bag also. It was the cutest thing ever.He asked politely and handed me a bag for a sandwich. Then he took his sandwich everywhere with him. Unfortunately, he didn't make it to lunch time with it. :)ImageThis is the start of the Pioneer Homestead pictures. You might recognize the place from the haunted homestead. It is the same place. Here they are waiting in line to make candles.
ImageYea, the candles do look just a little lumpy. I am sure they all burn the same. On second thought, that theory will probably never be tested.

ImageI love this picture. Janet doesn't like petting zoo because of the germs. She has learned all the bad reasons for this to be public health hazard. Yet here is Jaxon in with them and sucking his thumb! The thing you can't see is that there is no hand sanitizer. I didn't have any and neither did Janet. He He!)
ImageImage
Image Jaxon found a frog while investagating this barn. All the kids just had to see it. It was just too bad the a cockroach was next to the frog. Ugh! I don't think I will ever get used to that.
ImageMy little Adelyn recognized this particular place as the really adult haunted house. She wouldn't go in. She waited outside while we went in. Only after we had been in for about 5 minutes did she decide that nobody was going to get her and proceeded to come in.
