More Halloween Pics

I carved it, Don gutted it. I totally ran out of paint for the kids so they ended up using a permanent marker on their pumpkins. I did give them a choice of using a marker or carving. I can't believe none of them wanted to cut into a pumpkin. Kids these days. ;)Image
ImageThis was taken at the community fall festival. Adelyn, Hyrum, Grandma, and I went to the festival. It was fun for the kids. But this was the only picture I took. I need to be better about that.

Halloween

I got to take this picture for Courtney. I am quite proud of it.Image Here is the card we sent out to family. Boy, it is easier to take pictures of other people's kids then your own.

Hyrum is now 3!

It was a Hyrum day event. He picked what we had for dinner (chicken nuggets). He picked his cake (or not a cake but a cookie). He picked one of his presents (batman costume). Image
Image These pics are when he first put on his costume and loved it. I had the theme song for batman in my head for days because of this. Hyrum loved for me to sing it while he played in his costume. Sigh What a mother does for her kids enjoyment.

35 Years and Counting

In case you haven't heard my parents are serving a mission here in Texas. It was such a shock to us all. If all the places for them to go, Houston! YEA, for me! They have been living with us since the end of July. So for a while we had Joe and Drew, and my parents living with us. It was "Good Times". Well they just celebrated 35 years together with us. We had a little party. I love having them here.

I was able to be there for their setting apart blessing and it talked about how their children would be blessed for their service. When the stake president said this, I didn't think that pertained to me. I couldn't see how we would have such great blessing happen to us, because I felt like we already had everything. I am so gratefully they choose to serve the Lord! Many of our family members and friends have left Houston and without my parents here my heart would've broken... My heart still aches for those who left, but my mom is here to hold me up. I love my parents.Image

Fun after Ike

Because of Ike the schools were out. So I had to find ways to entertain the kids. I bought sidewalk chalk and outside stuff for them to do. As you can see Tia changed colors again. She is such a good sport!ImageThis is their favorite way to pass time. As long as they had their boots on I was fine with it.

After math of IKE

10 DAYS, not hours without electricity! Thankfully we are back in action. It was hard to live with out energy...... I would NOT make a great pioneer. ITS TOO HARD! I love the internet and my phone. My experience with all of this is definitely gratitude. We were luck we had food storage and were prepared. Though I was getting on my last nerve to deal with no energy. I almost broke down and bought a generator. I didn't want to buy just anyone. I wanted to research it and get a good one to last. But oh yea, how to do that with no INTERNET! UGH!

On a happier note I had just spend $100 at halfpriced books so I was ok with entertainment. Don on the other hand hated it. The computer and tv are his babies. He was driving me nuts with all the attention he wanted. I love my husband and this has never happened in our marriage, until now where HE constantly wanted me to do things with him. It was great to switch things up. Alright, so here are some photos of the aftermath. These were just in my neighborhood. I know there was more damage all around Houston.

These first 2 pictures are of the lot next to us. If they had fallen the other way they would have hit my parents room and either Elena's or Adelyn's room. Those 2 trees would have caused alot of damage. We are very blessed. The kids slept in my closet the night of IKE. So they were safe.Image

Hurricane IKE

So I got really bored of reading all the hurricane info, and now I am going to finish getting all my supplies together. We have decided to wait out the storm here in our house. I will have to keep ya'll updated when I can about how it ends up. I am just really hoping a tree doesn't hit the house. :(

I wish I could of taken a video of all the chaos of Houston right now. The stores are empty and the roads are packed. I remember Rita all to well to even think about driving right now. So here we stay.

First Day of School 08

School is starting, school is starting! It was a good first day. I think Adelyn will like her teacher. If she looks familiar it is because I requested Elena's kindergarten teacher for Adelyn. I know how hard it is to get a really good teacher. But first here is Elena in her class.Image

ImageThis is some pictures of Addy waiting for the bus. If you notice Tia in the corner, you can see she has changed colors due to her massive hair cut.
ImageThese are the kids that wait with Elena and Adelyn.
ImageWe are off to a good start.

They're Gone! :(

Joe and Drew left us for Utah! How could they choose to go to school over us! I mean, who would choose to live on their own with out screaming kids, new dog, my parents, and getting to share everthing. What were they thinking! Hehe. I know what I would choose. Here is a hint, blue is my favorite color and I love mountains. I have a song for ya'll!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45DFVyriVI0 Look it up. The chorus is for ya(not the rest of the song).

Tia!

I have been wanting a dog for forever! I finally got one. Her name is Tia Mama Mia (at least that is what is on her akc certificate). She is a havanese and is a great dog. I absolutely love her. Here are some pictures before her first hair cut. Image

Hausen Blessing Gathering

Janet and Daniel blessed their baby here in Houston. Most of the family was here for it. So we got some pictures taken. Boy, it was like the paparazzi were here! It was totally crazy with people taking pictures. I guess getting everyone 5 out of the 7 kids and grandkids together is hard. This is Daniel and Janet with their little boys.ImageHere are most of the men in the family.

Animal Planet Park

So animal planet has a thing where they go around and put on a fun bring your pet to the park thingy. Drew told us about it and we went. It is great living with family! LOVE IT!Image

Image
ImageIt was HOT! They had a splash pad area so the girls got in while I went to go get the car. That was a long walk. Drew stayed with the kids. It is a shame she didn't join them. She is small enough that she could've been taken as a kid! :)

Lacy's photo shoot

I got the chance to take some shoots of my friends baby girl. She is so cute! It was fun to play around with her. Some of these pictures are from her blessing day and others are from when she was a little newborn.Image
