Halloween

The three older kids picked out their costumes. They LOVE looking through the various magazines for their costumes. We went with a cute and cuddly theme for the younger two.Image

Sore Foot

I got a call from the school nurse saying Hyrum was hurt. A kid knocked over some kind of cubby thing and it fell on Hyrum's foot. His foot was a little swollen and sore so he got to come home. At first I think he thought it would be GREAT to be home but he quickly learned that staying home is not at all what it is cracked up to be.

On my way to the kitchen I saw him like this and just had to take a picture. He is waiting for his sisters to come home and little does he know he still has a LONG time to wait! ImageIf you look closely you can see he only has one shoe on his feet. It took a few days for him to walk normally after it got hurt.

My Loving Mother

My mom came to help with the new baby. Originally she was coming so Don wouldn't have to take off so many days from work. It certainly didn't work that way! Don decided to take off those days for a break for him also! LOL!

It was so nice to have her come and help. Leslie really enjoyed having her here. She got to go on long walks with grandma and she got lots of individual attention from her. This helped me be able to rest and not worry about anything. I didn't have to think about getting kids up, breakfast, entertainment for Leslie, lunch, school work, kids chores, dinner, and cleanup. Man listing those things makes me wish she could come back!

But because of her I got to focus on just this little guy and myself. Which was very nice.ImageMy mom doesn't want to smile big because she is worried about wrinkles.
ImageBut those wrinkles are symbols of time spend bettering oneself in love and service to others. And I think she looks beautiful with her real smile anyway!

Pictures that didn't make the Cut

I always have the hardest time narrowing down the photos I take to just a couple. What can I say?! I love my children and they always look beautiful to me.

These photos didn't make it on the card but I love them anyway.Image

Birth Announcement

He was a really hard baby to take these pictures of. He was not the typical easy to manipulate newborn. He was stiff and didn't like to be moved. But the end result was so worth the pain of it.Image

Daddy and Michael

We finally were cleared to leave the hospital but I got to get in a couple of pictures of Don with Michael.Image

Our Jaundice boy!

Because he was one day too early to be 38 weeks he had to be put under the lights. This was the first time any of our kids have had to do this. It was so sad! You could only take him out to feed and change his diaper. He did REALLY well. I on the other hand had a hard time with it. Not only could I not do anything with him but I was all alone in the hospital by myself with NOTHING to do. I was bored out of my mind.Image

The Day After

I felt better then I had after all the other 4 births. He was so much smaller so hardly any tearing at all.ImageIt is funny that we saved the runt for last and biggest first!

Birth of Michael

This was the easiest birth EVER! I was having mild contractions starting Friday evening and they continued Saturday but never really came close enough together. But by Saturday night I knew by the pain that it was time. We called Joe and Drew and they were kind enough to take care of all our other kids while we went to the hospital. At the hospital they observed us for a hour to make sure we were in labor and then put us in a room. I could also tell it was going to take a while to dilate to a 10 so I decided that I was going to get an epidural right away. This turned out well for me. I couldnt' feel a thing! I didn't even feel pressure. It was GREAT! Once the doctor broke my water I went from a 7.5 to a 10 and the baby coming by himself in 1/2 hour. When it came time for the big event the Doctor told me that I didn't even have to push!! Michael came by himself with a little help from the doctor at 2am on Sunday. Don was the first person Michael saw when he opened his eyes.

Before the main event.ImageWELCOME MICHAEL!

Drew Time

I got to take some pictures of Drew for her book. I am glad I got to do this for her. It definitely felt weird though. I am just too used to kids and this was TOTALLY different. She is so beautiful on the inside and out!!Image

Leslie Lu at 18 months

This time around it only took 10 minutes to get these pictures! I think being inside really helped with the distractions. She is such a sweet heart! I sure do love her! I will be forever grateful that Don and I decided to have another child. Image

My Sweet Girls

I have been wanting a picture of just my girls for a while now. I decided it was time to try. To get this shot I had to put a car on my head while taking their picture. I hope when the new baby comes to get one with just my little boys. I am looking forward to that one also! This is definitely my new favorite photo.Image
