Hi! I'm just a passing butterfly with a dream and a half.
Half of my drive for gamedev comes from a place of respect for games I've played and thought were amazing. These games changed my approach towards life and taught me a new way to think about life after playing them:
- Ace Combat 0, 7
- Project Wingman
- Yakuza (especially Like A Dragon and Judgment)
- Library of Ruina
- Robot Girl's Dream - RBC
- Fire Emblem (especially Blazing Blade and Sacred Stones)
There are a couple more I'm forgetting, but these games define my core "gamedev philosophy." I want to deliver good story experiences first and foremost, but tie them tightly to gameplay mechanics.
The other half of my motivation for gamedev comes from a place of dissatisfaction, anguish and regretably, hatred for gacha and the live service model. The anime artstyle is my preferred visual medium of storytelling but it has been pilfered by gacha filth and live service slop. I even tried Girls Frontline 2, and was extremely disappointed at how badly the general game design and dark patterns held back what was otherwise such a stellar story...
I want to make a game that is free of all of these vices. I want you to experience a good story, perhaps engage with a game that may be flawed but has visible depth. I will put my soul into the games I make and, first and foremost, I will respect you as the player as a human being and respect your time.
You can further my endeavours by supporting me. I am first and foremost an anime character artist who picked up programming somewhere down the line. I live in a third world country and opportunities for gamedev here are very, very tight. You can help sustain this dream of mine if you wish so, but I will never compel you to throw monetary aid my way.
