It has been quite some time since I last posted anything on our blog. It definitely isn’t for a lack of anything going on. We have been super busy. Of course, I am feeling super busy these days without even leaving my home. Two little ones are quite a lot to care for on their own. Then you add on all of the duties that go along with taking care of your home and family, and there you have days that fly by.
Harper Ann was two months old earlier this week. I.Can.Hardly.Believe.It. Time is a flying by indeed. In fact it is flying by so fast that I am have not yet gotten her a baby book. So, I am going to record all of her “stats” right here.
At her two month appointment this week she weighed in at 11.15 pounds, putting her in the 76%th percentile for weight. She was 23 inches tall, putting her in the 75% percentile. Her head was 40 cm, putting her in the 77th percentile for head size. Our gal is definitley a big proportionate cutie pie.
Some things she is doing now: When laid on her tummy she is lifting her head and looking both ways. This is extra great news!! When she was three weeks old I discovered a mass the size of a quarter on her neck. After a trip to the pediatricians office where two different doctors were not quite sure what it was, we were sent to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for an ultrasound of her neck. This appointment was made within the hour of seeing our pediatrician. After being cautioned about what it could or could not be, we found out it was overdeveloped muscle mass in her neck. Some at home physical therapy is slowly stretching the muscle out. Since Harper Ann is lifting her neck so well, her doctor is hopeful that there will be no need for any professional physical therapy or anymore ultrasounds.
Moving on-Harper Ann has started to make more noises than just crying. She is what I would call “hollering”. I love it! It is so adorable. We are discovering that she has somewhat of a raspy voice. So cute.
My dear Harper Ann is a champion of a sleeper. She slept as much as 7.5 hours at one time her first week home from the hospital. I kept thinking that it would go away. Harper Ann sleeps about ten hours in a row most nights. She will occasionally get up around 6:30 AM to nurse, and then go back to bed until 9 AM or so. Can I get a hallelujah! Big Brother Luke wasn’t a great sleeper for quite some time. I prayed for a sleeper during this entire pregnancy. Thank you God for answering my prayers!!
Last but not least-this sweet girl has started smiling! I love to see her smile!
I am loving having a little girl more than I could have ever dreamed. I am learning to sew baby girl clothes, whichs is so very fun. The monogram possibilities for little girls are also endless. Here are some pictures of my little gal that I took today. (for some reason the pictures are repeating and doing some kind of crazy collage.) Next time I post I am going to post a picture of the Hubster when he was a baby. I think you will see the resemblance.
