A Day in Jason's World!

I wish I could go to work with Jason more often! These are the jets that Jason gets to play with every day! I know some of you don't ever get the chance to see these beautiful things fly, so I thought a few pictures would be nice! I am so proud of my husband and his commitment to serve our country! I am so blessed to be an American!

Some people ask what it's like to be a military wife, and my answer is always the same. Great, scary, and difficult. Our thoughts and prayers are with each and every solider serving our country!

Happy 2nd Anniversary!

Image

Happy Anniversary! I love you bug!!!
Sunday was our 2nd anniversary! I am so lucky to be married to a such wonderful man! I love spending every minute with him! I am so thankful every day for Jason!
My husband is pretty thoughtful too! He got me a "cotton" spa robe and it was personalized! It says "pumpkin" on one sleeve and "love you" on the other! I really love it!
My gift on the other hand... Well.... I suck at picking out presents!!! It's the thought that counts right??? Let's just leave it at that!!! (wrong present, wrong idea, and it got returned!)
I did buy him an electric razor though! (that was the right present!) boys
like useful gifts!
Thank you sweetheart for another wonderful year, and many more to come! Too bad your stuck with me!!!

Beautiful Lights

I Love Being in Alaska!

Image
One of the best things about living in Alaska is being able to see the northern lights! They are so intriguing to watch! They dance around, they change colors, and are just mesmerizing!!! Now that it is getting colder, and darker we get to see them more and more... Jason came home early a few nights ago, and told me to get bundled up and come out side (it's now -20 at night), I grabbed my coat, and camera. The picture doesn't do justice to the whole sky being lit, but they are beautiful!

Best Movie I have seen!

I know I'm behind on the latest and greatest movies. I seem to always fall asleep during them! But last night I think I watched the best movie I have seen in a really long time!

I watched PS. I Love You
If you haven't seen it go rent it!
Let me clarify... You need a WHOLE box of Kleenex and it is definatly a chic flic!
So anyway,
I got home from work and didn't feel like doing anything so I put it in and got comfy. I cried before they even started the opening credits! (although in my defence there are sences before the credits!) I sobbed thru the whole movie. It was so neat though. How everything was set up, and layed out. What an amaizing story line. I am sure you all think I am crazy, but I just can't get over how much I enjoyed it!

Life is Good!

I Love Him and the Hot Wheels too!!!
Jason spent the evening with me last night and I had a blast!!! He is usually on swing shift (4-12:00) so I never get to see him except for on the weekends. Anyway, it was really nice to have him home for an evening! We made dinner together, and then curled up on the couch, in front of the fire place, and watched a movie. 88 minutes (I think that is what it's called) Anyway it was pretty good. It was a suspense movie with Al Pacino in it.
Then I fell asleep on the couch and he let me sleep for a little while, until it was time for a HOT WHEELS run! We went to Fred Myers and they said the boat that supply comes up on had broken down... Alaska gets a lot of supply from boats and barges, you would think we were far away or something! :o) Then we went to Waly-mart, nothing there either except our other competition! (They didn't get anything either! HA!)

For those of you that have no idea what I am talking about, let me update you!
Jason is an avid Hot Wheels collector... Yep, the little toy cars that little boys play with! He has over 500 cars hanging in his office. Anyway, its a cheap and fun hobby! There are special ones called Treasure Hunts and they are hard to find(obviously). You would be surprised how many adults LOVE hot wheels! All the collectors want them!!! Even though we live in a small little town there are a LOT of collectors, so it is a race to see who can get to the stock first!!! Usually he goes after work while they are bringing stock onto the floor and goes thru the boxes right there. You learn to make friends with the stock boys so they will hold a box for you and not let any other collectors open it. Anyway, it's kind of fun! If you see one with a green stripe down the side that says Treasure hunt pick it up! WE NEED THEM!!! It looks like this... They can have different cars in them but the package will have the green stripe! Keep your eyes out!!!

I know... We have fun doing it together though!!! :o)

More like me!

Ever wonder how some people make it through this world??? Like the ones that think they know everything, and act like they own everything, and the ones that say the same thing over and over, but with different words... It's like they can BS there way through every aspect of life...
Yep, I have been dealing with two of "those" at work all week... So now I have a bad attitude about "those" kind. It will get better though, tomorrow is Friday...
Everything is going well up here in the snow. It keeps getting colder. This morning when I left for work is was -1 Degrees. It's suppose to get up to about 20 today, but so far, I am still freezing!
Maybe that is why I am a little edgy... I have "those" people telling me they can predict the forecast for the next 6 months (we all can. Its cold) and they also can save the world from their little desks!!! Get a reality check and realize the whole world doesn't revolve around you! Okay, I'm done... As Jason would say "The world would be a better place, if there were just more people like me!"
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!! Loves!!! ;o)

My wonderful weekend!!!

Driving to Anchorage looks like this... Don't you wish you could drive in these conditions??? It's the main highway to get to the rest of the state!!! WOW!

Image
what a weekend!!!
Our football team made it to the playoffs and we had to drive to Anchorage to cheer. We rented 2 sprinter vans and put 6 girls in each van (plus 2 coaches driving). We left Friday morning at 7am, and 8 hours later arrived at the game... It should only be a 5 hour drive...
This picture is what the roads were like for 150 + miles... CRAZY!
I will never drive a van, teenage girls, and weather like this again!!!
We had 70 mph winds, crazy snow and really slick roads! Everyone was off the road ahead of us(including our Principal and athletics director) We made it safe and sound though.
I was really worried!!!

We got to the game and cheered our hearts out, but it just wasn't enough... Our boys lost 26-12... It was pretty gloomy the rest of the night.
We got up Saturday morning and went to eat. It's funny how much you take things for granted... We were all dieing for Ihop!!! We don't have an Ihop in Fairbanks, so whenever you go to Anchorage, you have to go there for Breakfast!!!
Then we had to get on the road for the trip home all over again! But this time the roads were a lot better! The snow had turned to rain and melted a lot of the roads. There were still a few rough spots, but we made it back no problems!!!
What a weekend!

Incase you were wondering...

It's gone from nice Autumn weather to Ugh...
It was 20 degrees this morning and they are forcasting an inch or more of that white stuff by this afternoon...
In Alaska it is spring for 1 month,
summer for 3 months (June, July, and August),
fall for about 1 month, and now winter is here...
Time for the sweaters and parka's!

It's here! It SNOWED!

What a weekend!!!
Jason and I had the brilliant idea that we were going to be lazy couch potatoes all weekend! Ha!
Friday night I had a football game at North Pole. we Won 46-6! We are undefeated!!! So now it is on to playoffs! We'll play at home this weekend, then on to Anchorage next weekend.
Yippee! Shopping!!! Whenever we get to go to Anchorage, there has to be extra time for shopping! Anchorage has the big stores like Target, Bed bath and beyond, and a real mall! If you know Fairbanks, you understand!!!
Anyway, Jason usually works the swing shift, but he had to go into work at 7:30am on Saturday. Yep! he got up early, and you know how much he loves early mornings, Don't worry... He wasn't too grouchy! ;o)
When he got home from work, we decided to go up town and run some errands. I finally got some more contacts, and can finally see again!
We got home, looked around the yard, and thought maybe we should do something with all the wood that still needs to be cut and all the leaves EVERYWHERE! Well needless to say, our lazy couch potato idea went down the drain.
Jason cut and split wood, I stacked it, and re stacked it! It kept falling down! I tried raking leaves for a few minutes, but I got board real quick. Then Jason got out the leaf blower. WOW! You know me and my little OCD problem, I have found a solution! When it looks like you have vacuumed the whole entire yard, and you are worried about every single leaf, you may have an issue! I had more fun blowing the leaves around and making my yard "clean" than you would ever believe. Jason just laughed!!! He said my OCD is out of control!
We finally called it a night about 8pm. It was getting cold, and trying to snow.
Sunday, yep it snowed! just a little dusting though...
Usually on Sunday mornings, most of our friends call to see if we are awake and want to go to breakfast. They always start calling about 9am. We are never awake when they call, but they still call just to check! So what did we do this weekend???
We got up early, and waited... No calls...They gave up on us!
So we made breakfast, ate, and then curled up on the couch. It didn't last too long though, I decided I needed groceries and Jason offered to tag along. I was in a cooking mood! I got some new papered chef stuff and couldn't wait to try it out! I made little apple pie tarts. They were awesome! I love papered chef !!!
So that was our lazy weekend in a nut shell! I didn't get a single Halloween decoration up! But maybe this week I can get some of it done.

What a week!

I am so glad it is finally Friday! I need a weekend!

This week I was overwhelmed at work... These new titles of Human Resources and Office Manager are adding to the piles I already have. Alkan is trying to land a huge contract with the military! They came in to do evaluations all week and finally awarded the contract!!! Ya-Hoo!!! Now the real fun begins!

So after a really long week, cheerleading is next in line! Tonight is our final regular season game. We are undefeated and tonight should be a easy win as well. Then we start the playoff season! Hopefully the snow will stay away just a little bit longer!
Here is a picture of the girls last weekend at homecoming!
Image

See that cool balloon arch? I am now a pro at those! just a little fishing line and lots of hot air! Haha!

Anyway, the weekend is almost here. I am going to start on the Halloween decor and see how much we can accomplish. Don't worry I will post pictures once it starts to become scary!!!

I LOVE HALLOWEEN!

So Here I am...

Well Thanks Nikki!!!
If it wasn't for you and I always playing phone tag, what else would we have???
This blogging is new to me, but I figured it was worth a shot! I can never get a hold of anyone, so I figured if I start a new blog, maybe I will be able to keep in touch a little bit more!
Anyway, the latest and greatest is just that... Great!
I am enjoying the few last days of fall in Alaska before the snow starts flying! It's on the way... It was 21 degrees this morning!
Jason and I have been busy with the last little bit of yard work and cutting fire wood for this winter! The fireplace definitely helps with the cost heating! Fuel oil is really expensive! Besides, sitting next to the fire place is sooooo cozy!!! Only a few more weeks and then snow will be on the ground for good.
I have been busy as coach with the cheerleaders for the North Pole high school football season. North Pole Patriots are 7-0! State finals here we come!!! The girls are so excited! It's been a great year for them! I am enjoying my time, but I remember why I am glad I'm not in high school anymore!
Jason has been busy with a lot of projects too! See my new bed??? He built it just for me!

Image Yep! I am spoiled! I love it! He is wonderful!!! I think I will keep him around for a while! :)Anyway, I will update a little more later!
