Lesson 3.7: Labor Day Celebrations

Coming from little Cedarville, Ohio, Labor Day is a big deal. I grew up with celebrations of a parade, festival, and even fireworks to celebrate the holiday. Now that I've  moved away, I still get a little sad to think it's pretty much like any other day off. I decided to celebrate by taking Jonah to a park because I did not want to be cooped up on such a great holiday.

We went to one of the many fantastic playgrounds Winston Salem has close by to where we live. I particularly like this one because it not only has a lot of space but also has a fence around the perimeter. Jonah is a wanderer so it was nice to just let him run and do his thing. I still can't get him on the swings, though, he just cries and wants out immediately.

Jonah loves the slide!

It's a bit tricky watching him because he can manage all the slides but not all of the climbing equipment.

I always thought this was a boring toy for a playground. Then I brought my small child and it all made sense.

Cheering for Jonah.

Looking up to find Daddy.

It's a lot of work to go down a slide.

Down we go!

Whew! Safe landing.

Run Run Run! He loves to run and jump and everything else little boys like to do.

"Are you coming down, too?"

The park is fairly large and we find the nicest little black cat on our way. Jonah just loves to pet cats and dogs.

Lesson 3.6: Practical Application of Gravity

I know, I know, it's been FOREVER since I last posted, but it's been a quiet yet busy summer. I'll be posting pictures from my mom's visit a few weeks ago when I get access to them (hint hint, momma!). In the meantime, I caught this little gem of a video this past weekend, complete with a "hi" and "goodbye." Good bye has definitely become his favorite word of late (along with duck).

Lesson 3.57: The Grand Finale on the Navarre Pier

Whew, we finally made it to the end of the pictures! Between Dad and I, we took way more pictures than I remembered. Also, it takes longer the type these posts while eating ice cream (orange creamsicle, yum). Anyway, our last adventure was to visit the pier where tons and tons of people were out fishing. Some people were really successful, but most were having fun. One kid told us he caught 27 fish that evening! I also got to see Aunt Katherine flip out when a fish flopped onto her leg; it was fantastic.

Overall, we had an amazing trip made even better by family.

Lesson 3.56: June 18, More Beach! And Failed Attempts at Kid Pictures

Ok, I know it's a lot of beach photos, but who doesn't go to the beach while on the coast of Florida? I mean, really. We also attempted to take pictures of the kids like we do every get together, but that just did not happen this trip. Oh well.

My son seems to be missing pants. Oh the perks of being in a diaper.

An unhappy Hannah, a hungry Jonah, and a patient Matthew. Sounds like the beginning of a joke.

Poor little girl did not like the idea of taking a picture with the boys.
