New baby, new weight loss journey.

This was actually in fall of 2012. I had a baby in May which led me to the need to lose weight again. These are before/afters. 28 lbs lost.

Take a photo. Today.

Here are my before and after photos from a year ago when I lost weight. I lost 17 lbs within my 2 month goal. I worked really hard and made smart food choices. It was hard, but it was soooo worth it.

Since getting pregnant and having my baby, I now have farther to go this time. However, I know it can be done, and I am determined to do it. :) I just have set a longer (realistic) time-frame for my goal.

Really this is a lifestyle change, not a diet. Exercise more, eat better. And by better I mean healthier foods as well as healthier portions.

So, go take a photo (or two!) of yourself. Because you'll love seeing the side-by-side difference after all your hard work.

Conscious eating

Snacking vs. A Snack

Here is something I have to work on all the time. I feel like eating...constantly. I'm not necessarily hungry, but I just feel like chewing on something. I don't know if it's because I'm bored or what, but I'm constantly putting something in my face.

So this is what we need to think about. No more snacking. Rather, have A snack in between meals. Be conscious of the choice of snack that you are eating. Be aware of if you are actually hungry or not. Don't just snack all the time, choose A snack to eat to hold you over until the next meal. And try to make it a good one. :)

Make a list, before going grocery shopping, of some healthy snack ideas. Google some ideas if you are having a hard time thinking of some. And don't buy snacking foods when you go. Just snack foods. Make sense? :)

Also, if it doesn't taste good, don't eat it. As in, if that popcorn you are eating is sort of stale, don't eat it! Or if you like cookies, but don't particularly love the cookies sitting on your cupboard, don't eat them!

Be conscious.

HERE WE GO!

Hiya'll! It's time to get moving again. I've changed a lot on the blog and added a bunch of information. Most of it based off my experiences from last year when I lost weight.

I'll be updating regularly with the things I'm eating and the ways I'm moving. I hope you'll jump on this fitness train with me. It's always nice to have extra encouragement and motivation.

I'd like to hear what you are doing as well. And I'd like to know what you would like to see on here.

Veggies!

Make sure to eat your veggies!  Sometimes the hardest part about eating your veggies is preparing them!  I have found it easiest to buy a variety of veggies and wash, peel, cut, etc them all at once so that they are ready for you to munch on during the week! 
Green peppers
Cucumbers
Broccoli
Cauliflour
Carrots
Celery
Etc!
