Due to a technical fault, the passenger lift in the museum is currently NOT in operation. This means that people with limited mobility will only have partial access to the exhibition: the exhibitions on the upper floors of the castle can only be reached via stairs. Only the basement, where the exhibition THERE IS A GHOST IN THE ROOM. For Sure! is located, can be accessed via the external lift. In addition, the exhibition hall is also accessible to visitors with limited mobility.
We thank you for your understanding.
As part of the interdisciplinary research project Joseph Beuys and National Socialism – A Laboratory Space, Museum Schloss Moyland is hosting a symposium that will examine Joseph Beuys in the context of National Socialism and his later engagement with this period. The symposium represents a significant contribution to the current discussion in research and contextualises the innovative and participatory laboratory space on this topic, which has been set up within the permanent exhibition at the museum since 30 March 2025.
The aim of the symposium is to critically reflect on the socio-political and artistic dimensions of Beuys' biography, in particular his role in National Socialism and the question of his later positioning and engagement with this past. Both academic and artistic perspectives will be heard in an interdisciplinary dialogue. Discussion rounds will offer the audience the opportunity to ask questions.
