| Monica- a Girl Hitesh - a Boy Monica married Hitesh this day. At the end of the wedding party,Monica's mother gave her a newly opened bank saving passbook. With Rs.1000 deposit amount. Mother: 'Monica, take this passbook. Keep it as a record of your marriage life. When there's something happy and memorable happened in your new life, put some money in. Write down what it's about next to the line. The more memorable the event is, the more money you can put in. I've done the first one for you today. Do the others with Hitesh. When you look back after years, you can know how much happiness you've had.' Monica shared this with Hitesh when getting home. They both thought it was a great idea and were anxious to know when the second deposit can be made. This was what they did after certain time: - 7 Feb: Rs.100, first birthday celebration for Hitesh after marriage - 1 Mar: Rs.300, salary raise for Monica - 20 Mar: Rs.200, vacation trip to Bali - 15 Apr: Rs.2000, Monica got pregnant - 1 Jun: Rs.1000, Hitesh got promoted ...... And so on... However, after years, they started fighting and arguing for trivial things. They didn't talk much. They regretted that they had married the most nasty people in the world.... no more love....Kind of typical nowadays, huh? One day Monica talked to her Mother: 'Mom, we can't stand it anymore. We agree to divorce. I can't imagine how I decided to marry this guy!!!' Mother: 'Sure, girl, that's no big deal. Just do whatever you want if you really can't stand it. But before that, do one thing first. Remember the saving passbook I gave you on your wedding day? Take out all money and spend it first. You shouldn't keep any record of such a poor marriage.' Monica thought it was true. So she went to the bank, waiting at the queue and planning to cancel the account. While she was waiting, she took a look at the passbook record. She looked, and looked, and looked. Then the memory of all the previous joy and happiness just came up her mind. Her eyes were then filled with tears. She left and went home. When she was home, she handed the passbook to Hitesh, asked him to spend the money before getting divorce. The next day, Hitesh gave the passbook back to Monica. She found a new deposit of Rs.5000. And a line next to the record: 'This is the day I notice how much I've loved you thru out all these years. How much happiness you’ve brought me.' They hugged and cried, putting the passbook back to the safe. Do you know how much money they had saved when they retired? I did not ask. I believe the money did not matter any more after they had gone thru all the good years in their life. "When you fall, in any way, don’t see the place where you fell, instead see the place from where you slipped. Life is about correcting mistakes." |

Besides online assessment tools which generate career profiles, the portal aims to give students a head start with training modules to sharpen resume-writing, interview and decision-making skills.
There are also occupation and education databases to help students make career and education choices – such as the qualifications for certain jobs, career paths and salary ranges.
The portal has been pilot-tested in about 20 institutions and is now in the final stage of development. It will be available to secondary and post-secondary schools by August and to primary schools by early next year.
The Barrage is an engineering success which creates Singapore's first reservoir in the city.
The president saw for himself how it serves to boost Singapore's water supply and help with flood control.
Secondary school students also shared with the president their learning journey at the Barrage and how they can contribute towards water and environmental sustainability.
But at the same time, the president said it is also just a great place to relax.
President Nathan said: "In the past, when we had no other attractions, these simple things in life were what attracted us, and what Marina Barrage is providing is the simple things in life without any of the distractions of city life."\

SYDNEY (AFP) - - More than 18,000 people from nearly 200 countries have applied for the "best job in the world," hoping to earn good money for lazing around on an Australian island, officials said Tuesday.
"We've been really overwhelmed by the lengths people are going to to draw attention to their applications," Tourism Queensland spokeswoman Nicole McNaughton told AFP.
"Potential applicants have sent out press releases, sourced their own media coverage and established websites dedicated to their applications."
Candidates are required to create a video application in English of up to one minute explaining why they are uniquely qualified for the job.
The job pays 150,000 Australian dollars (about 100,000 US dollars) for six months and includes free airfares from the successful candidate's home country to the white sands and clear waters of Hamilton Island.
In return, the winner will be expected to have as much fun as he or she can -- soaking up the sun, swimming, snorkeling, sailing -- and report to a global audience via weekly blogs, photo diaries and video updates.
The successful candidate -- who will stay in a multi-million-dollar three-bedroom beach home -- must be over 18, a "fantastic and charismatic" communicator, and able to speak and write English.
The campaign is a key element in a drive to promote the northeastern Australian state's 18-billion-dollar a year tourism industry during the tough global economic climate, officials say.
A shortlist of 50 applicants will be announced on March 2, the final 11 candidates will be flown to the island for interviews from May 3, and the winner will be announced on May 6, Tourism Queensland said in a statement.
Job-seekers can apply on www.islandreefjob.com.

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,'Hi'
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift..
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.
