Where has the time gone? I really can't believe it's the middle of September already. This summer has been a whirlwind. So much has changed but so much has also stayed the same.
Chef and I bought a new home, sold our old one (in just 3 days on the market), we did another Bike MS, I visited the Midwest, my sis visited me, my parents came for a visit, there have been changes both good and bad at work...I could go on and on...but I won't.
Chef's health has been good. He has had some symptoms on and off this summer. We think they were brought on by heat and of course the stress of buying, selling, and moving. I've noticed something's with his health that he hasn't even been aware of till I mention them. He hasn't been able to help with the move like I know he would have liked to.
I realized this summer that I carry a lot of the daily burdens for our family. I have done much of the moving, coordinating of contractors, and general home care. We like our new neighbors but I've realized how nice it was that the old ones knew our situation. Nosey neighbor man ask one day when we were going to fix our driveway and then gave me advice one how Chef and I could do all the work and keep the cost down. I wanted to punch him in the face. The thought of Chef ripping out concrete with a sledgehammer at that time through me over the edge. Chef had been struggling and was very tired and not able to help with much moving little alone be able to ripe up concrete. The rest of my day way shot after nosey neighbors comments. I was mad and others felt my wrath. Looking back I can't believe I let something so small have such an impact.

Where do I begin
I realized I have no idea on where to begin on getting you all caught up on my life over the lst year. I may have been slacking with the blog but I wasn't slacking at living life.
My friend, Maggie, is doing a 30+ day blog idea thingy called Think Kit. The topics look pretty cool as well as good to bring you up to spend on my life. Let's see if I can do this for all 30+ days.
Day one!
Your year in photos!
Document your year in photos. Did one photo encapsulate your year? Maybe it takes a gallery. Don't forget to caption, describe, or document what made an image important.
At the beginning of the year I began training for an ran an obstacle course race called a Spartan Race. Here's an after photo.
Chef and I did some site seeing.
Chef and I trained hard all summer to ride a Bike MS fundraising ride. Here's the start of the ride. We made it all 97 miles in one day...more about this life changing experience later.
Chef and I went back to where we met to celebrate or 5th wedding anniversary.
I had a couple of bear encounters. I almost hit a bear late at night coming home from the city. Then I see this guy when dropping off The Beast at the vet for kenneling. This guy wasn't as lucky as the first guy I saw this year.
I began crafting with burlap. Making wreaths, tote bags, and aprons. I've even started to see these items publicly!

Hello again
2013 here you are and here I am.
It's been way to long since my last post but I will try to catch you up on our world. Chef and I are doing well the end of 2012 actually brought us some good luck!!!
Chef landed a job last fall working at a restaurant supply company as a salesman. He has known the owners for several years. The owners had even helped us out at our wedding by loaning us some equipment. The company is a small family owned business and the owners and his co-workers are wonderful. He is selling everything you need for a commercial kitchen as well as coffee and coffee supplies(syrups and the like). He travels to the state capital one overnight a week to sell and manage accounts there and the rest of the time he is working within and hour of home. He is loving the challenge and being able to continue working with restaurants. Overall it is a really good fit for him.
Big dog didn't get in any trouble for his biting mishap...thank goodness. He is doing much better and we are becoming more trusting of him.
I took the plunge after we realized Chef was stable with the new job and got rid of the Jeep and purchased a new car. I decided on a Rav4 after much thought and searching. I was even able to get a good deal(without the good deal I would still be driving the Jeep). I managed to sell the Jeep in three days via Craig's List for full asking price.
So far this winter Chef's health has been stable. He has some aches and pains but that is to be expected. The aches seem to occur on colder days or when there is more temperature fluctuation. He hasn't had any major flare-ups since the kidney stone (knock on wood).
I'm preparing myself to accept both the good and the bad that will inevitably come into my life this year. As always I remain optimistic and forward thinking.
That's all for now...I hope post again soon.
Loves, D-Nice ;)

wild ride
Hello World! It's good to be seen by you all again.
I don't have access at work to be about to write blog post anymore, oh so sad :(
Chef had a kidney stone last fall...that was an event! He says he now has a better understanding of what women go through in childbirth! He was really miserable and the pain continued for some time. After he was diagnosed we realized that he had likely been having problems with it for about a month prior to detection.
I had an amazing Christmas with my family...hopefully I can get some pictures up of the Boy for you all to enjoy.
Since then life has been a crazy crazy ride.
Chef got FIRED from his job in late January. He had been in pain early in the morning and neglected to send a warmer with the plates to the memory care unit. Apparently this was the second such time the warmer was not sent so he got fired. I'm not sure if him telling them of his diagnosis and pain would have even matter I think they were looking for any reason to get rid of him.
He has since applied for a variety of jobs had only two interviews and is currently still unemployed.
Chef's uncle created a bit of drama about Chef's mom about Chef not "stepping up to help" Chef's mom also recently had back surgery, we need to go and see her but there isn't the cash to make it happen.
Big dog got out of the house this weekend when someone knocked and we weren't home. He did end up biting the person but from what I am hearing the individual is doing fine and it appears the bite was minor. THANK GOODNESS.
My car needs fixed...check engine light has been on for quite a while (it's just the yellow one not the red one)...I need to get it fixed though.
With Chef out of work and obedience classes for the dog along with all our other scheduled monthly bills the car doesn't fit into the necessity box at this moment...at least I can walk or ride my bike to work if it decides to die!
I've been traveling like a crazy woman for work. Don't get me wrong I love to travel for work but it gives me NO time to complete the paperwork, answer questions, and all round do the desk part of my job.
At the end of the day though I try to keep the above in perspective. We have enough money to get buy and aren't donating blood/plasma/or other bodily fluids to get by. We are able to eat, have our cars, and the roof over our heads. I'm able to work and have a job I love. Chef is for the most part doing really well health wise. Yeah he has had some issues over the last 6 months but in general he is doing well. Life could be much much worse.
I didn't proof read this post so if it's really bad SORRY!

pictures
My neighbors asked me to go with them to the lake yesterday and take pictures of them as a family. I felt so honored and was glad to go along. I packed the camera bag and my swimming gear (the plan was to swim after the photo shoot). They came over and got me when they were ready and we headed to the lake. I pull out the camera and start shooting amazing shots of their oldest daughter. I take one particularly good shot and I ask her to come and take a look. It is then that I realize I made a horrible mistake upon packing the gear. I FORGOT MY MEMORY CARD!!! The camera has NO INTERNAL MEMORY all is lost!!!! The girl I was shooting is 11 and has all the teenage angst so me having gotten the shots that I thought I did was amazing. I then had to tell them I forgot the memory card. I was hopeful that since the mom brought her camera that she might have an extra card with her...nope she left it at home. She was nice enough to let me use her camera to do the remaining photos. I don't have copies of the photos though to play with and edit like I would like to or even to share with you :(
Lesson learn..ALWAYS CHECK YOUR MEMORY!!!!

jobs
I am LOVING my new job. I feel like I am learning again and enhancing myself. In my last job I felt stuck same people same conversations...there are only so many ways that you can instruct a client on how to preform hygiene tasks or to not eat whole watermelons due to the stomach upset side effects. Now I get to help in crisis but walk away at the end of the day knowing that I provided input to hopefully make a difference but someone else gets to do the education and leg work. But within that I get to have client contact and don't just have to sit in my office all day pushing paper.
Chef on the other hand isn't having such a great time at his job. Apparently he got "talked to" by his boss and the administrator and they told him to "think about if this is where he wants to be". He had no clue this meeting was coming. They told him his food quality was poor, residents were complaining about quality and portion size, they also "talked to" about several other things he isn't doing right. He told me that he asks the care attendants at every meal how the residents like the food and for the most part the reviews are good. He decreased portion size a while back due to residents stating that portions were to big, now apparently residents are saying portions are to small (but not to Chef). So of course Chef is upset and wants out of there ASAP. We went for a walk and talked about this the same day they talked to him. I understand where he is coming from but this has him so beat down that he doesn't have faith in himself that he can do anything else. I don't feel that being in a kitchen is right for him any longer and he totally agrees. Thing is he has NO IDEA what to do. He is in the I can't funk and can't seem to pull himself out. He is already on depression medication so maybe he needs that upped a bit to get him through this, I don't know. I just want him to get a job that makes him happy. I don't care to much about how much he makes since almost all his money goes to pay of his past debts.
