New S-Flow Muffler Replaced the Old and Reliable Stock Muffler

Yo guys , recently have been getting tired of the sluggishness of my car again ( everyday i am complaining about it ) , so to think of what is left in my car to modify to get some more horses from this puff no fury QG16DE AT , exhaust resonator aka muffler strikes my mind. For those who did read my previous post , my muffler is still stock for some reason. The stock muffler designed by Nissan is kind of restrictive to my newly modify 4-2-1 Exhaust Manifold which gives a faster air flow. It seems the response of the engine itself aren't sharp enough to my taste , to get over it , modify is a MUST . For your information, some people said muffler doesn't give much difference from stock one , the fact is , the stock exhaust system can't seems to compromise well with the modification done on the car like E. Manifold , Air Intake. The cycle of combustion is like this : Intake --> Compress --> Explosion --> Exhaust. As you can see the first and the final stage of combustion is those normal modification can take place. Compress and Explosion need further R&D by myself later. This could mean port and polish + engine tuning.

Since my intake is fast with the SIMOTA , but my exhaust isn't compromising well with it. For that reason , i got a new S-Flow Muffler from my friend Exhaust's Shop , i have been eyeing on some S-Flow Mufflers for months ever since i changed my exhaust system. This Muffler from MARCO Brand , well its local made but the result i am getting is pretty satisfying , with just the S-Flow Muffler combo with my E. Manifold , 1.6" Piping and Straight flow 18" bullet, i get a very good acceleration and response and as well as sport but not annoying Exhaust Note. Today i purposely ram my car's engine hard while passing through some place , speed around 167 km/h achieved without any hard effort from the engine and it was on third gear of transmission. I am expecting another 3 hp gain from this muffler. Guys please be careful on choosing your muffler out there , though local made stuff are well known for bad quality but some brands out there doesn't disappoint me so far. Me myself recommend DANCO , MARCO and TOPCAT.

*****Unless you are heavily loaded , you can go for imported stuffs from oversea tuner store like Tanabe , Apexi , HKS , Trust , Blitz , AEM , Jackson Racing and etc. At least not for me !! :P *****

Hi again , been very busy and "POOR" these few weeks , somehow my budget was cut off due to readjustment and planning for some important manner. By the way, the idea of modifying my suspension has came up as i was rushing my new semester and here i am, finally free and boring. My enthusiastic on automobile still here i see haha.

According to some external sources, rumors that Aurfa is a brand that originally manufactured in Japan but due to something happened, the whole company has bought over by the YTL International Corporate in Taiwan. The AURFA SFX series adopts height-adjustable single-tube gas-hydraulic design. The greatest improvement is it separates the damper oil and nitrogen effect. One of the defects of multiple-tube gas-hydraulic shock absorbers is it mixes oil and nitrogen, and the pressure tends to be released unevenly which leads to abrasion and deformation of the steel core that cause the leak of the damper oil.

The AURFA SFX series damper adopts the design of 54mm super-large diameter and is made of intensified aluminum alloy. Damper

Coil Spring

Strengthened Mount
The hole in the center of the upper mount is to fix the core. When the shock absorber is working, the upper mount will be hit with extremely big power. After a period of time, more or less there will be some noise. The original product usually use hard rubber instead of metal bearing. The upper mount in AURFA SFX series is strengthened, which not only bears powerful forces, but also reflect the shock absorbing action to the car, further enhancing its performance.

How do you think of that ? It is quite a nice build to me, the only problem i worry is there any tuner that is familiar of this brand. Since most of us in MY are so familiar with GAB, HWL, TITAN, IMPROVE, PARAMOUNT, EIBACH, TEIN, CUSCO ... Well there is more but don't think you need to know .

Bolt on Mods Update 1.2

Above is the old engine look of my N16. Well it has alots of improvement eversince last year and this year. My modification starts around last year November.

I will summarize my modifications for my ride , this includes Price (RM) , Difficultlty (*) and Result.

Item name : K Speed Racing (Taiwanese made) , 15" Light weight wheels
Price : RM500 (wheels only , not included tyres)
Difficulty of plugging in this stuff : * (even my girl friend can do this )

Summarize
OEM 15" alloy wheels is replaced by a set of light weight 15" wheels to reduce weight. The reason of keeping at same size as OEM because my main concern is on acceleration , not cosmetics. By reducing the weight on the wheels , the engine will be able to pull away better as the rotating mass is reduced and car weight is reduced. This is my first mod to improve my car acceleration.

Item name: Marco Mild Steel Made 4-2-1 Header
Price : Rm260
Difficulty of Plugging in this stuff : ***

Summarize
OEM 4-1 steel catalytic convertor was removed from the engine's exhaust cylinders. Generally , stock exhaust header was 4 to 1 design , which means 4 cylinders to 1 cylinder design , this compromises low end engine speed and mid end engine speed. When changing to after market 4-2-1 header , a significant increase at mid end and high end engine speed is noticeble , low end speed slightly lost due to fast air flow out from the exhaust.

Item name : Exhaust Piping
Price : RM130
Difficulty of Pluggin this stuff : ****

Summarize
OEM exhaust piping is equiped with one center resonator (muffler) and one catatylic converter (cat-con), by removing the cat-con and enlarge the piping size , significant gain at mid and high engine speed is accquired , a small amount of low end engine speed will slightly reduced due to fast air flow out from the exhaust. OEM Sentra exhaust piping is measured at 1.5" (internal) , by slightly increase to 1.75" (internal) , gain on mid rpm is good for high speed travel. My setup is 1.6" which is 0.1" bigger than stock size because i don't really need so much mid end torque as i usually travel at 90 km/h. My concern is at low end , which is acceleration , not top speed. I clocked at 11.3 seconds for 0-100 km/h test with this setup , which is 1.3 seconds faster than stock setup.

Result : Satisfied (B)

Item name : Denso Iridium IK20 Spark Plugs
Price : RM160
Difficulty of plugging in this stuff : * (Just need the correct tools)

Summarize
OEM spark plugs gives significant sparks energy in the combustion chamber to ignite an explosion in the chamber to generate power. By using an aftermarket high power energy spark plugs , a small amount of gain on low end and mid end can be noticed , as Iridium Spark Plugs concentrates the spark energy in the head of the plugs more than the OEM , expect your engine to be slightly responsive and more easy to rev.

Item name : Imperial Concept Power Discharged Ignition System
Price : RM400
Difficulty of plugging in this stuff : ****

Summary
By enhancing the spark energy on the spark plugs , expect to gain more horsepower because of enhancing bursting power , explosion in the engine room. The bigger the fire , the more explosion , the more the power it has in the engine.

Item name : Simota Carbon Air Intake System
Price : RM550
Difficulty : ****

Summary
Stock air intake system drains enough air for the engine to breath , not compromising the air needed when travelling at high speed or instant acceleration. By upgrading to an aftermarker air intake , it enables engine to breath more freely and more responsive. My setup is an exposed type air filter , as the air filter is exposed to the enviroment , the engine can suck in 360 degree of air , but due to hot engine temprature , performance of engine will be weaken. The colder air , the more oxygen molecol and more explosion. By fitting in a carbon fibre made heatshield , the air filter is free from hot air , but a COLD AIR INTAKE pipe is needed to guide in cold air from the outside as the air filter is "trapped" inside the heat shield.

Item name : REDLINE crankshaft pulley
Price : RM360
Difficulty : ***** (Engine Stuff)

Summary
OEM crankshaft pulley weights at 2.5 kilogrames on the machine , which is pretty heavy for a 1.6 litre car. By reducing the weight of crankshaft pulley , at least 3 bhp can be freed out from the engine. From low to high gear , almost each gear has improved at acceleration and responsive. Not to say the torque , helps pulls better while climbing hills. Beware , some cars' engine crankshaft aren't internally balanced so if mess around with crankshaft pulley might result in crank failure. For my nissan , it is internally balanced so i have least worry about it.

Result : Awesome (A++)

At the end of the article , this is how my engine looks like. The blue color cable is the grounding kit , it doesn't gives much satisfying result because it only act as voltage stabilizer in the engine. The little blue color LED light on the battery is another additional ignition stabilizer , gives significant effect to igntion timing.

Our Great MG

4th of June , the Petrol Price rate has been uprated for 40% from the previous price which is RM1.92 to RM2.70 . Well frank to say it is pain in the ass for me and other fellow drivers on the road. We are facing the problem of increasing in heavy expenses from now on. I understood most of us would be angry due to this event, the thing is we have to cope with this situation and start doing something for ourselves besides than whinning and argueing. The rise of the fuel price is not only occured in MY but the whole globe. By this August rumors say there might be a more crazy increasement ... Which is RM2.70 PER LITRE to RM4.XX PER LITRE.

My opinion about this issue is, it is a necessery fot the increasement to reduce the usage of fossil fuel which will depleted after some years. We do not know when will these resources going to be gone but We are expecting in the next 5 years there will be no more petroluem around MY. To encounter this issue , i strongly suggest we have to change our living style, we are moving towards a living style which is high living cost that similar to those Japanese, if only local people can use their brain to think a little, wasting the petroluem is a sin and also start working hard for a stable life. If not we will be in doom. These few days i have been driving under 100km/h speed to save some fuel, now my fuel comsuption for 1 bar is 217 km ... I am expecting 500 km for my car as i made once a record with 517 km for RM77.

My friends , i sad to tell you that i no longer can drive uy Sentra so often because i need to help the family to save some expenses. If necessery, i will ask for some payment in the future if we happen to go some long distance trip. In the same way i will be paying you guys if i get to ride in your ride. Zero to Hundred km/h test

Last Friday , my butt is itchy that makes me want to go around Klang Town in my N16. Since everything that i have done to my ride makes it better than a stock , now i intended to test its acceleration from 0 - 100 km/h. Not only i want to know my car's potential , its limits also plays a big role. I invited Wilson , friend from GC motorsport Klang , also owns an N16 , I borrow his car which has stock wheels , stock exhaust system and stock air intake. The only modification he have done is the Iridium IK20#4 Spark Plugs and Imperial Concept Power Discharged Ignition System. Stock car always has better acceleration from standstill but sucks big time when approaching high speed. The first and second runs were done at Bukit Tinggi Klang , in front of a Primary School , a flat straightroad which has almost 1 km length . Perfect place to test run . The first run with the stock car is 12.8 seconds and the second run is 12.6 seconds . The car is carrying 2 person including driver , extra weights and spare tire. Next is my N16 , i clocked at 11.6 seconds on the first run and 11.7 seconds on the second run. I notice that stock car has a better low end torque then my car but it slows down when approaching 60 km/h , my car has better power from 40 - 80 km/h , with the activation of VTC across the rev range , no doubt i can outrun a stock N16 from 0-100 acceleration . I found out my car has a lower power at lower end speed (0-60 km/h) , but benefits at middle high speed (100-160 km/h), but sucks at high speed (175 km/h - 195 km/h). Guess i need a proper Piggyback ECU like Greddy E-Manage to optimize the Engine performance , again , a project which needs cash .... DAMN !! POWER DESIRE NEVER STOPS !!

Off Topic 2

Off topic section which doesn't involved any kinds of automotives. My last off topic was like 3 months ago which is March. I have a very damn thing about myself . I can not control my temper sometime for being at this age ... Sometimes i tell myself :" Brother you already 21st ...." But still i can lose my temper in split seconds if sometime provokes me ... last April, i yelled at my parents due to some misunderstanding. I know that is bad but somehow its about time for me to do something to notify them i ain't like what they think. I have my own opinion of living , that is why i quit the course in LUCT ! At the first place they are the one who forced me into that University. Damn i should have be tougher when i was 18 ... Shouldn't be so soft hearted till i was being all control . I can not have my fate to be destinied by someone else. I want to fight my way out. I want to have my target of life. This time i think i made a right choice. Anyway Mom and Dad , so sorry for my misbehaviour at that time , i know that is the first time both of you saw me went into berserk , furious and dangerous . Hope you guys don't mind that.

Now its about my dear , sometimes your complaints is right , i am not right in some ways but hey this is what makes me the me you know . If i change into someone else you might be very happy but sadly but truth i won't . I feel like you are controling my character just like my parents did before . I will try to compromise your requests and try to be the way you like me to be but there is a limit. Ok ? Dear , don't think that i am playing around with you , you know how serious i am towards you . You know my character , my style and my heart . I love you , is that enough for you to understand ?

Friends at APIIT , you guys are really bringing joys to me throughout the first semester , especially someone who always worked out :) You got my credits for being my best talker in class . Your thinking is definitely different from the others , you are very good on your own. I trust you haha . The one who almost kicked my car , you too got my credits but little due to your harmful action towards my "HELEN" , SHE will not forget you for being rude towards her ... HAHA ... The one with Mercedes , your straight foward style is what i like but keep in mind that you are too straight until someone might think you are LCLY them ... HAHA anyway you got my credits for that . The one with sleepy eyes and the other glasses guy , thanks for the help throughout the semester , really enjoy working with you guys , and the last 2 ... , BOTAK and EVE ... You 2 also my good partners , even though sometime 2 of you being silly . ET the great dancer , haiz get real man and join the dance club !! Lastly , Calvin and Kelvin , man your laughters crack my head , will be really enjoy being with you in the following years of studies , hope to be good partners with you . YAM SENG GROUP 2 !!

Flaming Wave riders , i am sure you are not having a Pure QG16DE in your Sentra , it just too fast for it ... DAMN don't always say i am gay lar , i still want to FXXK with a FEMALE also de lar !! That time while staring at the packages is an accident ! Damn ... I beg for your mercy then , don't strip me 99 ... !! KEKEKEKE
