NAPS2: Efficient Document Scanning and PDF Conversion

NAPS2 is a free and open-source software designed to streamline document scanning and PDF conversion processes. It supports a wide range of scanners from popular brands like Canon, Brother, HP, Epson, and Fujitsu. Upon initial setup, creating a user profile takes less than two minutes, enabling seamless scanning for future documents. Users can customize preferences such as DPI and page size, and choose between WIA or TWAIN drivers, with WIA drivers being the default choice.

After scanning, users can preview the PDF, rearrange pages by simply dragging them, rotate pages for alignment, and trim excess parts easily. Notably, NAPS2 offers Optical Character Recognition (OCR) functionality supporting multiple languages, enabling quick text searches within the document. Integrating additional languages only marginally increases the PDF size.
