Minersville Tournament

I finally got to fish another tournament. Unfortunately I got schooled by the smallmouth in minersville res. I caught some decent ones but not big. My teammate and myself caught lots and lots of fish, but our 5 fish weight was only 8 lbs 6 oz. Some teams did very good. Here are some pics of the day.

This is not of the tournament, but I had to put Lance making out with a bass.

Man stuff

There was a tie for the manly award this time. It goes to my turd-ball cousins, Heidie and Rick. They ambushed me, with a couple of pies, during the pie eating contest on the 4th of July. Between the three of us, I lost very badly. It was an awesome celebration.

Rick and myself climbed on top of Aunt Rita's house and booty trapped his sister Leslie from above. We look good without our shirts. ALL that came to the house got wet.

Man blog is fat and slow

The man blog is getting fat and slow like myself.

Things have been busy lately. We went on 12 day vacation to Florida and had a blast. We hit Disney World, Gator Land, deep sea fishing, pond fishing, people watching on Daytona beech, Saint Augustine, and many others. I wasn't able to fish any tournaments lately for that reason. It was much better. We also went to the "Blue Man Group" show. (thanks Dane and Alicia) It was awesome. Those guys are a crack up. They make laugh without saying a word. For all the "rednecks" reading this (Travis and Holly) We were staying by the Daytona Speed Way. All the NASCAR appearell is half price than everywhere else. Here are some pictures of the last month of manly stuff.

P.S.

No matter if you're tall, short, fat, skinny, 8, or 80, you where a bikini at Daytona beech.

Grayson won the manly award this time. A few seconds after this picture was taken, Grayson layed one on Pocahontas. Then he told me "she's cute dad, I really like her".

Whoa! Now that's manly.... I think.

Nothing more manly than my wife next to a Harley.

Nate got to ride in the captain's chair while ocean fishing.

New State Record Crappie

The other day a feller from Wisconsin broke the Utah record Crappie. It was 3 lbs 5 oz and 18.5" long. He caught it at Lake Powell. The previous record was caught in 1993 at Quail Creek and it weighed 3 lbs 2 oz.

April Fishing

Well, the tournament at Quail was on the 18th. It wasn't the best tournament. We fished for 8 hours and I caught only 2 fish. My partner only caught 1. We had a grand total weight of 6 lbs 5ozs. There were 3 teams that didn't land a single fish. We didn't take last.

I have figured out that everyone can fish a tournament. But, can everyone be consistant on the raffle. I can. I spent $15 in tickets and got about $75 worth of stuff.

This is a 2lb 2oz fish I caught.

The next weekend was our annual brother trip. This year it was at Sand Hollow. Lance, Daniel, Mike, and Jeffery went down on Thurs. the 23. They caught some but the wind was lovely. Friday, dad went down and Lance tore it up. The wind didn't let up, but he had the magic touch. He caught a 4lb 9oz, 4lb 3oz, and a 3lb 9oz. He also caught many more. Nate and I went down Friday evening. He wanted to play with his cousins. The wind was so bad the boat was docked. I fished from shore and caught 5 small ones, the biggest was about 2lbs. The next morning the wind let up. Instead of 20mph winds, it was 30+mph winds. I caught a nice 3lb 9oz female right next to camp. The winds got worse, and we beat the obsticle of loading the boat. Not without getting soaked and so cold my nipples could cut glass. (Oh, behave. Did that make you ranndy?)

Lake Mead Tournament

Image

Image

Well, I fished a tournament at Lake Mead. My partner was Gilbert Jennings. We had a total weight of 8lbs 14oz. I had the bigger fish with this 2lb 5oz whopper. I caught 5 fish in all. It was a great day to fish. Senkos were the bait of choice. We took 4th place. The winner had 15 lbs 1 oz with a big fish of 5lbs 6oz.

These are the items I won in the raffle. About $40 worth.

The next tournament is at Quail Creek on April 18.

Bass tournament 2-21-2009

I fished the SUBA tournament at Sand Hollow last weekend. My partner and I tied for 2nd place with 14 lbs. We got beat out because the other team had a bigger fish. That put us with 3rd place. There were 13 teams total. The sun was out and it was a very good day to fish. My partner caught a 4 lb 9 oz bass and I caught a 4 lb 14 oz one. We caught a few smaller ones under 2 pounds. I used a drop shot 4" Chompers worm most of the time. I promised not to devulge the lure my partner was using.

The next tournament is March 21 at Lake Mead.ImageImage
