Slacker

I have been a really big slacker lately. I think of blogs in my mind but never get around to actually doing them. Hopefully I will get better. In the meantime I thought I would add these cute picture we took of Brodie the other day. The boys love to get Nick's raquetball stuff out, put it all on, and pretend they are playing. Grandpa Schwerin would be so proud.

Family Pictures 2013

 

On the spur of the moment last week we decided to take some family pictures and this is what we ended up with.  It was nice to have kids behave for once while we were attempting to take pictures.  Thanks to my sister Angie for meeting us on site with only a few hours notice.

While in Vernal a few weeks ago my sister took our kids out into our parent's field and searched for monarch caterpillars amongst the milkweeds.  They found several, three of which made it back to our home.  We had a great time watching them make their transformation into beautiful monarch butterflies. All three broke free from their protective coverings within 24 hours of each other, which allowed us to release them all at the same time.

2nd Annual Havenwood Days.

Havenwood Days is something my sister and her husband started last year in their neighborhood which they so kindly invited us to attend.  We had great fun, there was a fish pond, face painting, parachute drop, photo booth, cotton candy, music, sack races, pie eating contest, BBQ, train for kids, outdoor movie (with freshly popped popcorn), salsa making contest and so much more.  They started the night off with a bike ride for everyone which followed a Havenwood Days sign which wound through the neighborhood inviting all to join.  The evening started off very nicely with some cloud cover and much laughter...

but things took a very quick turn.

After the storm blew over and most people found their way home to change into dryer clothes the fun continued.

It was great times, and we hope to create something similar in our neighborhood.

Bear Lake 2013

We made our 2nd annual "Day Trip" to Bear Lake on 8/19/2013.  Nate and his family joined us this year.   We had a great time.

Whats a blog?

I heard this weird word the other day "blog" and I thought I had heard it before.  Well it turns out that I had heard the word before and that I even had one.  I can't believe that I had forgotten all about it.  Maybe it has been because of these four and all the time I spend with them.  They always seem to put a smile on my face so I thought I would share a little... go ahead and try not to smile.

Before and After

Since I have not posted very many pictures of our house, I thought I would post before and after pictures as we got projects done. We just finished the front of the house. We changed the lights, painted, and did lots of yard work. The yard is still a work in progress but it looks a lot better.
I am really happy with the way it turned out, it is amazing what a little paint can do!
