Blue Monday Retreat

Image
It is BLUE Monday again!
The weeks just go marching by!
Sometimes I wish it would slow down.
Anyway, thank you to Sally at
where you can find more BLUE posts.

In August we went to a one day retreat.
Learning more about Sabbath.
One of our options was to take a walk.
Image
Most of us were wearing BLUE.
This walk is along the Stations of the Cross.
We stopped and reflected at each station.
Image
B-Daddy(also wearing BLUE) took a different walk
and our paths crossed here.
He is taking a moment to pause and reflect here.
Image
This is what the Stations of the Cross looked like.
This one is number 7 out of 14.
Image
On the path back to the retreat center,
I came across this stuffed dog stuck among the trees.
Image
The lunch menu framed in BLUE.
Image
Okay....I guess I will show you a picture of the dessert.
Image
The view out the window of the room we used for our retreat.
Image
The room with lots of BLUE.
Meals were in a different room.
Image
And the dinner menu also framed in BLUE.
It was wonderful to take part in this one day
Sabbath Retreat. I would love to do it again.
And just so you know, I am a Lutheran and our church was having
this retreat.

Happy Blue Monday!

Shadow Shot Sunday on the Fence

Image

Time for Shadow Shot Sunday.
It is rather fun to keep an eye out for interesting shadows.
This one I caught when I was visiting my friend this week.
Late afternoon sun in her backyard made for fun shadows!

Shadow Shot Sunday at School

Image
Time for Shadow Shot Sunday!

This is my second time to participate. And I found a picture I took earlier in the year I think it was.
Anyway, this is the school my kids went to in the elementary grades.
That tree there casts interesting filigree lines.
Image
The shadows even seem to surround the window!
Been a long time since my kids went to school there.
So many changes there now.

Happy Sunday!

REDnesday in the Kitchen

Image
The weeks go by too fast!
Another REDnesday is upon us already!
Let's see what I have this time!
Image
This may look familiar if you have been here recently.
But wait---
Something is different. Can you see it?
Here is a closer look.
Image
Can you see it yet? Some little thing is different.
Here is an even closer look...
Image
Aha! I see you found it!
A little plaque I found at Joann's Fabrics some
time ago. I finally hung it up!
Another new thing I have...
Image
A really cool apple canister.
We found it on Labor Day when we took a drive.
Image
It has rubber around the lid.
Not sure yet what I will keep in there.
I was thinking about using it as a sugar bowl, but
now that I am dieting, sugar is hardly getting used.
Any other ideas as to what I can keep in there?
Image
In the meantime I will keep it here.
With the other RED stuff.
Oh and here is a picture of a couple of items we got at the same place as we got the apple canister.
Image
Goodies from
Kozlowski Farms.
They have tasting stations to try things
 before you buy them.
The Apple Butter has no sugar added.
That is a plus for me!
It was a nice ending to our pleasant drive on
Labor Day.
Happy REDnesday!

Shadow Shot Sunday in Spokane

Image

A new meme that I was not aware of until today (Saturday).
So I decided I could participate in that one.
Hey Harriet's Photography is the gracious host for this meme.

Image

This picture is from my trip to Spokane in July when I went to a convention there.
It was held at the Spokane Convention Center and this gazebo like structure was on the grounds between the convention center and the Spokane River.
It was a nice place to go and relax between meetings and so forth.

Happy Sunday.
Although for many that may be hard as we reflect on the horror that happened
10 years ago.

REDnesday again!

Image
Whoo Hoo!
Time for REDensday again.
Time I should blog more often again.
And I have some REDS to show you today!!

Image
On Sunday we decided to go out to eat at this place.
The name of it?
The RED Grape!
It is one of our favorite places to go and it is a locally owned place. And popular.
Plenty of seating when we got there, then the crowd came and there was a waiting list.
We got lucky!
Image
 This is what we ordered.
Has RED tomatoes on it.
One of the specials for September is the
BLT Pizza.
It was so yummy!
I think it had ranch dressing on it and there is cheese on it too.
Guess we better go again in September if we want to
order it again.
Image
This is after we had taken out first slices out.
Image
The plates they use with a RED grape on them.
That was Sunday.
Monday I had to work a half day.
Then we went for a drive for the afternoon.
Browsed through the town
Occidental.
Image
We parked at one end and walked down the street on one side and back up on the other side.
There is a RED church there!
Image
Just had to show you these doors.
That is the entry to one of the restaurants
in Occidental.
Image
We browsed through one of the shops.
Well a couple of them.
Not many were open even though there
were tourists coming through on the holiday weekend.
This RED something or other was outside the shop.
Image
And so were these colorful flags which
includes RED!
Image
And we saw this Radio Flyer wagon
at another shop.
Speaking of Radio Flyers....
I was in Spokane in July for a convention and
saw this....
Image
That is one huge Radio Flyer!
Image
Funny thing was...as I started my walk along the
Spokane River, someone asked me if I knew where this was located. I had no idea.
Then I found it myself on my walk!
There are stairs to climb there and it looks maybe it is a maze inside. I didn't check it out.
Then you go down the slide which is on the handle.
Would have been fun to take my granddaughters there!

Thank you to Sue over at
for hosting REDnesday!

Happy REDnesday to everyone!

Pink Saturday

I just realized that the last time I posted here was the day before I was rear ended in my new car. I am fine from that now and the car was repaired. The other guy was at fault and his insurance covered all the repairs.

I also realized that the first Pink Saturday I participated in was the first Saturday in September in 2008.Image
This is what I shared that time.
Items I have the feature the Linnea flower.
Special to me, because that is my name.
I have a link on the photo of a real Linnea flower on my side bar that should take you to a website with more information about the Linnea flower.

Now I have something new to share.
My mother had gotten this for me at some point somewhere and then forgot she had it.
When cleaning, she came across it and gave it to me. It was supposed to be a Christmas or birthday present in what ever year she bought it.
Anyway, here it is!

Image

Such a cool addition to the Linnea flower things I already have!
And I love it!
Have not decided yet where I am going to display it though.

Happy Pink Saturday to all!
And thank you to Beverly at
How Sweet the Sound for hosting!
When you get a chance, go there
and visit some of the others who are also posting for
Pink Saturday!
