Farewell HSM-77

After working at the HSM-77 Saber Hawk squadron for 3 1/2 years it is FINALLY time for Nick to transfer back to shore duty. In honor of his last day at this squadron before he transfers to the weapons school, Brooklyn and I brought Lunch up to all the guys in the shop. We brought Nick's favorite Hawaiian BBQ and had a little feast. Brooklyn enjoyed getting to have lunch with her dad at his work with all of his friends (even though she refused to talk to any of them). I thought Nick would be so excited to be done with this squadron because it was SO busy there all the time, but he was actually pretty sad when he was saying goodbye to people. His CO met me in the hallway to tell me what an amazing husband I have and how he completely turned the moral of that shop around. He told me that Nick would be greatly missed around there. I already know that about Nick, but it's always good to hear that other people see the same man that I get to see every day.

More tummy time...

Jax still does not love his tummy time, but he will tolerate it a little longer than he used to.

Heatwave...

We have been having an extreme heatwave for San Diego.
Image
To help cope with this heat we got the girls an inflatable pool to help keep them cool. Brooklyn was more than willing to help dad set it up. She will always be the first one to help Nick with any project he has going on... while the other two girls where inside watching tv.

It took most of the day to set it up and fill with water, but as soon as it was ready the girls couldn't get in fast enough. They were so excited and stayed in until I finally made them get out for dinner.

SAR Jumps...

Nick and his guys always practice their SAR (search and rescue) jumps out in the bay, and usually the girls and I go and watch, but it was a little too cold and late to have Jaxson out so luckily someone was able to take pictures for me. Hopefully next time we'll be able to watch because the girls think it's really cool.

The Happiest Place on Earth...

Since Grandpa was going to be in town for his birthday this year, we decided (very last minute) that the best way to celebrate his birthday would be with a trip to Disney Land. It worked out really good because we had some tickets that were going to expire at the end of the month anyway. We gave Jeanine our extra ticket so she was able to come with us also which was fun. I was a little unsure about going on a Saturday how the lines would be, but surprisingly (at least to me) they were really good. The longest line we stood in was 25 minutes for the Peter Pan ride, but everything else was around 10 minutes. With such short lines we were able to get done everything we wanted to do at Disney land and still had time to go over to California Adventures. It was a fun day for everyone, but especially fun for me because usually when we go to a theme park I am pregnant and cant really ride on anything. :)

This storm trooper was totally freaking me out. I was trying to get a picture of the girls with him and he kept walking straight for me while pointing at me, I kept taking steps backwards to try and get away from him.
Image
But the girls finally got their picture with him and were very happy... Never mind that mom is now traumatized from it. :)
Image
BEST PICTURE EVER!!!!!!! I know it looks like I am totally freaking out on this ride, but I actually knew right where the camera was and did this on purpose. I had asked Jeanine to do this with me, but clearly I'm the only one that knows how to have a good time in this group.
Image
Jaxson all geared up (okay well maybe not) to ride his first ride, Pirates of the Caribbean

Image
Brooklyn's only request of the day was to see Mini Mouse... Mission accomplished.
Image
Riding the ferry over to Tom Sawyer island so the kids (mostly Nick) could climb around in all the caves.

It was so much fun that the girls are already asking when we can go back again.

Nick's mini me...

Nick is loving having a son around to even things out around here. (Although we still totally out number them) When he saw that I had dressed Jax in his camo shorts and grey shirt he had to run and change into his camo shorts and grey shirt. Seriously, how cute is that?! :)

Right after I was done taking pictures of Nick and Jax together Grandpa came into town for a visit so of course we had to get a picture of him and Jax also since they look so much alike.

Play time...

After bath time everyone wanted a turn to play with Jaxson on his little play mat. He always welcomes company if they're going to give him attention. :)

Goodbye Friends...

Since the Nasfell's are going to be moving up to Camp Pendleton this weekend they by tonight so the girls can say their final goodbyes. Before they left we decided to take a few pictures in the front yard. One thing these girls are NOT is camera shy.

They of course had to start off with a silly pose.
Image
Then it was time for big group hug.
Image
It looks like Brooklyn and Skyla did not get the memo that silly poses were over... Although what's new with these two. :)
Image
Then it was on to pyramids. It took them a few tries to get the hang of it, but once they did they did not want to stop.

The girls are very sad to have their friends move away, they made me promise we would still go visit them. Brooklyn doesn't quite get it yet because when we went back in the house after they left she asked me what time Skyla was coming over for dinner tomorrow... She is probably the one who is going to have the hardest time with this (besides me of course) but luckily they won't be too far away.

Lunch with friends...

Image
Since Kim and her family are getting transferred up to Camp Pendleton soon our group of friends decided it would be a good idea to have lunch at our favorite lunch place, Chick-fil-A. Not that we really need an excuse to go there and eat, but it was nice getting all together one last time. It is really going to be sad for me when Kim does move. Luckily it's only a 45 minute drive so we'll still be able to see each other.

*On a side note, seeing pictures of me really makes me realize that I have a lot of baby weight still to loose. I can't use the excuse that my baby is only 2 1/2 months old forever. It's time to get motivated.
