A few nights ago I was making dinner and decided Will should have some tummy time. He immediately rolled to his back, so I put him up on the boppy so would stay on his tummy. I then turned to make dinner for a minute….
…this is what I turned back around to! Apparently, he “scooted” himself over the pillow and on to the floor!
He will be 4 months on Wednesday…he should not be mobile yet…this boy is going to be T.R.O.U.B.L.E.!!!!
I was curious to see how he did this so I put him back on the pillow today. He has to get kind of frustrated to do it but he did it again! The other night when he did this I did not hear a peep out of him!

tummy time tricks!
Sleep…
…or lack there of! Will is still not sleeping through the night and now in the past few days has decided to wake up 3 times a night! My body must just be used to it b/c I don’t even feel that tired anymore, but I am tired of getting up multiple times a night! Last night we decided it was time to put him in his own room to see if that helped (it didn’t) and I am starting to work on some “sleep training” with him too. (Not nursing him every time he wakes up, trying to get him back to sleep without picking him up, etc..things that help him get back to sleep on his own.) I know a lot of the problem is the bad habits I gave him that we need to break. He is, on the other hand, a good napper and naps long and regularly during the day, so I guess I can be thankful for that.
This is from this morning when I gave up and put him in our bed to get a few extra minutes of sleep. Good thing he’s so darn cute I can’t even be upset with him in the middle of the night!
First Dentist Visit
Brooke went to the dentist for the first time today. It was a pediatric dentist office fully equipped with a flat screen TV above each chair so that she could watch Sponge Bob while they were cleaning her teeth! She did great! I was surprised how well she sat there and let them do everything. The dentist said her teeth looked great but he did say she had some changes in her bite from her pacifier…SO…that’s the goal for the next week or two…the binky is going for good this time! He did say they were reversible but better to get an earlier start on reversing them! She left with a balloon, stickers and a Snow White tooth brush. I don’t think she’ll have a problem with going back in 6 months!
Parkville Days
Today we went to Parkville Days with Oliver and his mom, Susan. (Will and Daddy stayed home). It was VERY hot but the kids had a blast! They got to ride ponies for the first time and ride some of the carnival rides. Brooke loved the pony ride as you can see!
More summer fun!
Uncle Jason came to visit last weekend and we had a fun day of swimming on Sunday. Will got to actually go swimming for the first time this summer instead of just watching from the sidelines! He wasn’t too sure what to think and was asleep within about 2 minutes of getting out of the pool! Thanks for visiting Uncle Jason!
Buddies
Brooke and Oliver have had a fun summer playing together. They are also now at the same daycare/preschool so they get to see each other at the beginning and end of the day, which they love! I love these 2 pictures of them!
Week at Grandma and Grandpa’s house
2 weeks ago, Brooke got to spend the week at Grandma and Grandpa Nickell’s house because her daycare was closed for the week. They had so much fun playing they didn’t take very many pictures! She did great and had fun riding the ranger and seeing the cows, flying her kite, swimming and helping Grandma with her classroom. She also had fun spending time with Great Grandma Boyer. Our house was very quiet without her, so we were happy to get her home, but were grateful that she had such a fun time with her grandparents!

Will has been busy: He has started grabbing toys and loves to put them in his mouth (pictured below!). He always seems to have his hands in his mouth and has discovered his toes as well. He is constantly grabbing them. He is smiling a lot and we are starting to get some laughs.
3 months old!
Will is 3 months old! (actually he was last weekend, but I didn’t get to take a picture or put a new post, so he is 3 months, 1 week in this picture!) He has become a happy, smiley baby in the last month! He started daycare last week which also led to sleeping through the night (most nights). He is getting used to taking a bottle…still not doing it great, but getting better. He is a great napper, and takes 3, 1-2 hrs naps during the day at home and so far, at daycare! He is cooing/”talking” a lot, smiling a ton, and getting close to laughing. He watches Brooke’s every move and loves when she talks to him. He is still rolling over and active. We are hoping to make the transition to his own bedroom this week. We love the happy little guy he is becoming!
More St. Louis fun…
This is a little overdue, but here are some more pictures from our fun trip to St. Louis. We had fun riding the carousel at Faust Park, going to the zoo (and eating a snow cone!), playing at the Pratzel’s with Emily and Henning’s niece Louise, and going to Millennium Park with Aunt Jen and Drew. We also got to visit with a lot of other friends. We must have been enjoying the visits because I didn’t take any pictures! It was a great trip!
