We had a very nice laid back Christmas at home! Aunt Arianne joined us for most of the day and then Grandma and Grandpa Nickell and Great Grandma and Grandpa Nickell joined us later that day. It was a nice relaxing day!

Dance Program-video!
I know I’ve been posting a lot recently but there are some grandparents that are pretty anxious to see this video! Brooke had her Christmas Program at dance on Tuesday night. She did great and had a great time. The audience didn’t phase her at all. It was hard to video because there were so many people so I only included the ones where you can see her pretty well. It is a little longer but I couldn’t decide what to cut!
Here’s what she looked like that night so you can pick her out! (She wears a red skirt too but I let you know in the video when that happens!)
A Christmas Play
Brooke’s class performed Christmas plays this week. They divided into 3 groups and the kids wrote the plays themselves, decided on the characters, made scenery and made costumes (all by themselves!). The plays were cute little 2-3 minute scenes in which the teacher read the script and the kids acted them out. Below are a few pictures from the play and a video of Brooke’s play (don’t worry, it’s only 2 minutes long!) Brooke is Mary and Oliver is Joseph. Watch Brooke closely when the angel tells her of baby Jesus’ birth (it’s pretty funny!)

Will came with his class to watch!
there were 10 in the bed…
..and the little one said, roll over, so they all rolled over and one fell out, there were 9 in the bed….
[in case you don’t know the song 🙂 ]

Brooke’s new bedtime routine is to line all of her animals up across her pillows and leave herself about a foot of bed space for herself. She fell out of bed tonight…big surprise!
dear santa…
[not sure where half of these ideas came from and some of them she wrote “for Will” (ie: crayons) but that’s her list!..hope she understands when santa doesn’t get her everything on her list but she later gets some of it for hanukkah!..oh and I had to convince her to add the one thing santa is definitely getting her to the list!]
Decorating…
To complete our Christmas tree day, we had to come home and decorate (after the kids [or Will] napped). Will mostly just got into trouble but Brooke loved helping. Will has actually been really good about completely leaving the tree alone…hopefully it will stay that way!
[We do have Hanukkah decorations as well but they aren’t nearly as pretty in pictures!]
Santa Claus!
After we got our tree, we went inside to enjoy some hot chocolate, popcorn and see Santa Claus. The last time Brooke sat on Santa’s lap was here (4 years ago!) Both she and Oliver were happy to sit on his lap and chat with him and even got to talk to him more while they were enjoying their treats. They thought this was pretty cool! Will was much less impressed. He would only get close if he was also touching me!
Christmas Tree Farm
Today we took our annual trip to Reindeer Lane Tree Farm to get our Christmas tree. The Moore’s joined is this year to help us pick the perfect tree and see Santa Claus.
Will was happy to have the best ride on the way to pick out the tree
Everyone helped find the perfect tree
Will supervised…
the kids tried to haul the tree…they decided it was too heavy…
and it was better just to let the dad’s do the hard work…
Dress up fun
Brooke was very excited after Halloween because “Will has his first dress up costume!” [She has a ton of princess dress up costumes!] So, she was very excited the other day to play dress up with Will. After we went through all the princesses and fairies, she put on her Batgirl costume and Will put his Robin costume on and the “flew” down the hallway! This was right before lunch time and Will didn’t quite get the concept of dress up…so this was our lunch!
I fought through a temper-tantrum to get him out of it at nap time!
