I'm Still Pregnant

I know that I have been really bad about belly shots and pregnancy information this time around.

If you want to really know what it was like, you should read how it went the first time, because not much changed except for what I already wrote about being a little bit sick at the beginning.  Mostly as long as I keep my Tums handy I am fine.

Getting on the floor and changing diapers is a struggle, but it's not like I have a choice.

30 Weeks

 We now have just over 2 months until baby time.  The baby is supposed to weigh about 2 pounds now and she moves like crazy. I feel like she is dancing in there almost every night when I lay down and get still. Sometimes I get these very hard, out-of-nowhere kicks and it makes me jump every time.

Valette seems like she has a little understanding of what is coming now. I'm sure it will still be a crazy adjustment for her. But she loves babies and she is a great little mother to her dolls, so I think it will go well.

I ask her if she is excited to have a baby sister and she usually says yes. She knows the baby is in my tummy (although sometimes she wants to argue that the baby is in her tummy) and we talk about her coming out when she is ready, but I dunno if that computes for Valette.

On an unrelated note, today is Eric's birthday and I love him. Even though I didn't do a special post for him. He got an entire bag of heath bars plus a real 18th century weapon that he has been googly eyed for since he found it listed for sale. I think he feels like it was a successful birthday.

Also, Valette calls everything long and skinny a sword. Everything. It's funny.

Baking

 We had a play date with Adria and Madilyn to make brownies and cookies.

And take pictures. Obviously.

 Adria was our best helper. Understandably.

These are super yummy pudding cookies with chocolate chips and heath bar chunks. So. Very. Yummy.

 

 Adria has this super cute kid-size cookie sheet and cookie cutters and rolling pin. She had great fun shaping her own cookies.

Can I just say how I love this lens? It's so fun.

Pleas notice Madilyn's apron. I made one for her and Valette. They are reversible with pockets. I am so very pleased with them.

Valette commandeered this cool chest a while ago. She mostly pushes it around with toys in it. Or shoes. Or phones. Or wrapping paper. But there was one night she got to push her cousin Dylan around in it. They thought that was the most amazing thing.

I made this special jello because I'm in a jello phase right now. Don't judge.

Valette got all messy and cute eating it, and I have noticed that I always want a picture of her all messy from eating.

Thanksgiving 2012

The Lara's went to Pinetop for Thanksgiving this year, and Eric was working overtime hours so we didn't join. On Thanksgiving day we had absolutely no plans and just enjoyed a lazy day as a family. Before naptime we took Valette on a walk down to the retention basin where she ran and played with Daddy and had a grand time. [We decided that it's time to invest in an outside ball, she would really like that.] We then had Salmon for dinner. Seriously.

Lawlor Thanksgiving was Friday afternoon and I brought a turkey which we fried and it was amazing. (Honestly ham is better than turkey, but that was probably the best turkey I've ever had. Expensive though, the peanut oil is not cheap.)

I was super lame and took almost zero pictures at Thanksgiving. I was so careful to bring the camera and then never got it out. Sigh.

 After Dinner my Dad gave a tiny Family Home Evening at my request and then I gave all the kids one of these papers that I had used in my Sharing Time the Sunday before. It was to help them write down their testimony and I told the kids to put them in their journals.

Ember finished hers and then noticed Valette coloring. She happily sat with her and helped her and I was glad to get a picture.

This is Valette "kissing" Eden. Yeah, would have been a big wet one.

 We gave Eden a few weeks to get bigger and tried taking their pictures together again. It was more successful than the first time, but...we will still have to do it again, when Eden is big enough to sit on her own.

They were super cute in their hats.
