Welcome to our journey as a family, who have no biological relation to each other, but who seek to follow God's will together.

Snap Shot Sunday: Chunk-A

Ni Hao Y'all

Image

The ultimate middle child, Chuck is all about making sure he gets plenty of attention. He loves his "wankie" and all things cars or trucks. We use to say he talked like Jab*a the Hut, because we never understood a single word he said. Now we think he talks allot like Jar Jar Binks, "mesa hav toa goesa potty". But hey it is a 6/7 words sentence, much improved over a few months ago. He now can answer questions correctly and it communicating much better. He still repeats asks for clarification on most things, for example, I will tell him sit down, and he will say:

"thesa mesa chair mom?"

me: "yes that's your chair, sit down"

him: "thesa chair, mesa chair mom?"

me: "yes Chuck, your chair, sit in it please".

him: "sitta in mesa chair mom?"

me: "YES, sit down"

him: "OK, mom, mesa sitta mia chair"

him: 'mom, mom, mom"

me: "yes Chunk"

him: "mesa sitta mesa chair"

Cute but annoying when it occurs several times a day about different things.

Image No sense of spacial relationships, Chunk is forever head butting me as he tries to cuddle or sit on my lap. I do not know how many times he has awaken me with a head butt. He loves to get into my get into my bed in the mornings and get as close to me as he can, which is great for cuddling (except for the head butt) until you realize that he has soaked his pull up and it is leaking out onto you and your bed. Fulling potty trained during the day, I think he got tired of waiting for mom to have time or the energy to help him learn so he did it on his own. However he will still have a little melt down about going sometimes, when it is someone else idea and has SOAKed the bed at nap time a few times.

Image Loves his bath time, and is crazy about swimming. We have been in swimming lessons for the past two months and I think that it is really helping with his sensory issues. He says all the way there "its not scary". His way of telling me that he is scared. He can swim on top of the water now, he just needs to learn how to lift his head and take a breath and he will have it.

Chuck-A is turning out to be a major fun 3 year old. He still is a great sleeper, especially if big bro in not around, great eater of all carbs (will not eat a fruit and very few veggies) and will make you laugh at the crazy made up language that he uses. We often say Chuck would be a perfect only child, except when he gets into things he should not, like baby Vick's rub and puts it in his hair. He is still the child I wanted and prayed for after his wild brother.

We love you Chunk and are so glad God trusted us with you.

Snap Shot Sunday: Little Stray

Ni Hao Y'all

Image
Oh my Little Stray. Do NOT let the cute looks and the killer smile fool you. He is a bad boy in the making. No way you say? Well do I have some stories for you.

There is the time he blew a raspberry at the waitress who told him how cute he was. There is the raspberries he blow at us when we tell him something he does not want to hear, like NO! There is the times he has gotten mad and scratches, bites or pinches you or others. He loves to take what ever Chuck-A is playing with and when Chuck starts to cry, so goes back over and punches him in the head for good measure. He loves to steal Chunk-A's beloved blanket and run from him around the house, laughing his head off as Chunk trys to catch him while having a tantrum because Little Stray has his blankie.
Image
He has this "look", we have yet to figure out exactly what it means, he does it for no reason, when he is mad when he is figuring something out, all of the above. He will just walk into a room, stop and give you the "Look". It is such a funny expression I hope to catch it on film one day. If he is suppose to be eating but does not like what you have to offer or if he is mad at you about something, he waits until you are looking and then drops it to the floor. He will have it in his hand, with his arm out away from the table and when you say his name he will give you "the look" and drop it.
Image
He is constantly climbing something. He loves to climb and one of his favorite things to climb is Pinky's bed, with her in it. In the mornings he will run to T-Monsters room and climb up on his bunk bed and onto T and start jumping, what a way to wake up big bro. He loves to stand on the kitchen table and do a little dance, and if there is anything on it he just throws it in the floor. He loves to climb onto the counter in my bathroom and suck on Computer Geeks toothbrush, play in the water and help mommy with her makeup.
Image OK so on the other end, he is the funnest out of all our children. I have told allot of stories on him, but it you were there you would have a hard time keeping from laughing half the time. Like the time he put a little car on Pinky's head and would keep going back to make sure it was still there. You may not know what he is saying, but he will talk your ears off. He has a HUGE vocabulary already. He answers yes and no questions very well and is upset when he is not understood. You ask him where something is and he says "inoknow" all run together, so cute and says "thereitis" all run together too, when you find it. He follows directions very well, he will put things in trash for me and will run to another room and get things too. He loves to hold his sissy and to have his passy.

Complete mommy's boy, no one but mommy will do. He always wants mommy to hold him, especially when she is making dinner. He gives the best hugs, and will say "my mommy", just melts my heart. He loves to read to at night and will pick out the books he wants each night. He must kiss Pinky every night before bed and always wants to sit with the big boys and watch one more Max and Ruby.

Oh my Little Stray, how glad I am God sent us you.
We love you.
