Meanest Mom in the World!
We went to Flaming Gorge Dam today. Alaina really wanted a Sno Cone a lady was selling by the Visitors Center. I looked at the line which had about 20 people in it and told her lets go look at the water while I think about it. She nagged me the entire time we were by the water, and finally I told her “No, you’ve nagged me too much”
At this point she started throwing a tantrum so Joe and I ignored her as she went over to a rock and screamed as loud and as long as she wanted to. Finally when she calmed down she came over and told me she was sorry and she wouldn’t do it again. “Can we have a Sno Cone now?”
“No honey you already made your decision and now you have to accept the consequences of throwing a tantrum.”
She started to cry again. “Mom I’m really sorry I didn’t mean to make you meaner! Can we please have a Sno Cone?”
Poor girl, with the meanest Mom in the world- didn’t get a Sno Cone.

I think I scarred the mailman....
Our mailman is a very kind older gentlemen. So yesterday he brought a package to our door. I thanked him and he went out to the mailbox only to return a few minutes later with my actual mail. "You know what causes that don't you?" He pointed to my 21 weeks worth of baby:)
"YES! and it sure is FUN!"
He looked at me for a moment... "Well okay then." and turned and walked back to his truck. I don't think he expected me to say that. But then he was the one that brought it up and honestly, What else is there to say?
Yes?
Boring I liked my response much better. :)
Kids say the Darndest things!
Maybe it's just that time of the year when you seem to pay more attention to what your kids are saying or maybe I've been so stressed lately that everything is funnier. But Alaina has been saying the most hilarious things lately.
Yesterday Alaina had dragged her chair out to the living room, so when it came time for dinner I told her to go get her chair and bring it back. She went in and strained at it for a minute then came back "Mom, I can't do it. It's Too Big and I'm just teenie tiny!"
(We finally convinced her that she was big enough to bring it in herself at which point she was super proud of herself "I'm teenie tiny and I did a HUGE thing! SEE?!")
This morning after searching high and low for my hairbrush I finally asked her if she knew where it was... She looked at my bed hair and with wide eyes put her hands out as if too slow my approach. "UH-OH!!! It's okay mom. I will help you!" She ran and got my hairbrush and began to climb the counter so she could reach to brush my hair. "We'll make it better mommy!"
OH how I love that sweet little girl!

The other night Joe came home exhausted. He had been up until 2 am working with a guy in our ward who makes toys and needed some help during his busy season. He then got up and ran his route to St. George only to come home and work a few hours at his regular job. He didn't get home until seven. (keep in mind it's been a very busy day.)
He gets home and is greeted by Alaina "Dad lets chase!" So he spent the next hour chasing, playing hide and seek and dodgeball with the kids.
No complaints in fact he remarked how fun it was to spend that time with them.
Finally after dinner scriptures and prayer and some more monster chasing the kids we got them into bed. Joe came out and sat on the couch. Poor guy I know he was exhausted but he still took the time to listen to me tell everything about my day before he he fell asleep on the couch. I love that man!
He is always doing something to help their development! Tonight I got home from my class to find him teaching her the regular rules of how to play matching. (She usually plays on a computer) He very patiently explained to her the rules which she didn't like and got her to play by them. He had been doing this for over an hour. (At that point I'm ready to be done!) But he kept at it. He is one of the most patient men I have ever met and to think I GET to be with him forever! I must been the most blessed woman in the world!!

Count your Many Blessings!
I just wanted to tell everyone how blessed I feel we are. Aside from having wonderful family and friends. We have been able to go out to Maine, get our computer fixed and in general I think we're spoiled.
My car started acting funny on our way home from Christmas with my parents and we decided to go back. My family put up with us for an extra day and then Dad arranged to have our car looked at. Once it was fixed Joe went to pick it up and pay when they told him it had all been taken care of... by an anonymous individual. (Thank you Dad) I truly have the best parents in the world!
The gospel means so much to me. I cannot imagine not knowing that my family has the opportunity to live with eachother in the eternities, if we live righteously. I know my Savior Lives! He is the light of the world! He gives meaning and hope where there seems to be none. May you all be as blessed as we have been, this holiday season and all next year!

Four Generations
How cool is this?! We got to take a picture with four generations in it on Joe's side. I Love the family history this entails. We'll be able to tell Alaina: "See this? This is when we went to Maine and you got to meet your Great-Grandpa." I kinda wish I had a four generation picture of my great grandparents... but if I do I don't know where it is.
