I was heartbroken to hear about the tragic murder of actor, director, and activist Rob Reiner and his wife Michele… both creative and cultural forces in Hollywood and beyond. Rob Reiner directed two of my favorite movies: Spinal Tap (the first movie to make me cry with laughter and get a stomach cramp from laughing too much) and The Princess Bride (which happened to star Andre the Giant). Reiner began his career as an actor playing “Meathead” on the groundbreaking show All In the Family, created by Norman Lear, and went on to direct many hit movies. Reiner’s films always had warmth, humor, and empathy, qualities that carried over to his tireless progressive activism. The world has lost a creative icon and justice warrior to whom I’m incredibly grateful… thanks for everything Mr. Reiner.
