Yard Sales

ImageI guess you could say this is my attitude towards them. The boyfriend, however, loves them. I find zero joy in rummaging through people's things that not even they want. Why would I want it? The argument of the afternoon was with the boyfriend about yard sales.

K. Maybe I'm being irrational, but I hate them. He says that it's thrifty and many times there is something that we could use. I disagree. I don't even like the act of haggling with the proprietors. It's ridiculous.

So the conclusion was that I spend money on worthless things and don't value thrift.

F Yard Sales.

Hope your day is going better than mine!

P p p poker face p p poker face....

I mean really... "can't read my can't read my poker face"... is this what our music has come to? Don't get me wrong, I'm guilty of driving down the road, laughing at myself singing this song, but it's quite ridiculous. Also, have you heard the birthday sex song?

It's on the R&B stations, here. I'm pretty sure he says, "tell me where you want your gift". Whoa. What are our kids listening to? Granted when I was growing up it was "I like big butts and I cannot lie" and I didn't know what Sir Mix A Lot was singing about. I knew what big butts were, but not sex apparently. My brother and I thought it was hilarious. And then there was I'm hot for teacher. Of course we thought it was "I'm not the teacher" and my parents weren't going to tell me otherwise. Is this the case for songs like Birthday Sex? Are kids just hearing other things and it's innocent?

Yes, I'm overreacting. I find great hilarity in these songs and even mock them by singing them. They did one thing right by getting catchy tunes (which are typically borrowed).

Just a random thought for the evening.

Any crazy songs you've heard lately?

It would happen to me

So on the last day of school (last final and exit exam), I decided to take a break in between the tests that had to be taken and go grab something to eat. It was about 9:00, so I had about an hour before I had to be in the Sociology office. I was going to cheat and get some fattening biscuit or something. I pulled out of my awesome parking spot (that I was oh so proud of because parking is hard to come by) and slowly started to drive out of the parking lot. Out of no where.... BOOOM! I freaked out because I thought I had hit someone's tail gait or something. I got out of my car to find that someone's two door silver Chevy Cavalier hit my passenger doors. Ugh... It had to be me and it had to be today.

The guy seemed young. The first thing out of his mouth was "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry, this is completely my fault." I just sort of looked at him like, You're damn right this is your fault. He had to floor it out of his parking spot to hit me while I was driving. I was shaking. What if I miss the exit exam? What if it is partially my fault? My car doors won't open on that side...what am I gonna do? Serves me right for trying to get a greasy biscuit for breakfast! I told the guy to call Public Safety.

The super nice public safety officer said it was definitely his fault. She wrote up the report and sent us on our ways. No time for breakfast now.

Three weeks later... I was still waiting on a phone call about the accident. Nothing. Finally I called his insurance company and filed a claim. Geico people are super nice, by the way.
Now, one more week, $1300 in damage and a rental car later, my car should be good as new. Cross your fingers!

"So much more space for activities!"

If you like Will Ferrell and you are looking for another brainless movie, Step Brothers is perfect. I love this scene. It might not be as funny outside of the rest of the movie, but it's cool--not offended if you don't find it hilarious like I do.

Soooooo.....

I've got to remedy this situation where I suck as a blogger. I'm ashamed of my lack of blogs and sad that I haven't given you all much to read and sad, too, that I may have lost what few readers I have. :( Please don't leave me! Okay, I'm not that pathetic, but seriously. Please!?

The stress of finishing my college career left me ill. I mean physically sick with the swine flu or whatever else is floating around in the germ-y air. So, yet again I've had the plague. This time it only lasted 3 weeks. I'm still hacking a little bit (cute, I know), but lots better than I was. I traveled around with the illness and didn't really give my body much time to heal, so the past 2 weeks that I've been back at my house, I've been trying to get better. Finally I am. Finally I feel like leaving my cave and getting out in the sun. It's sad when you don't feel like leaving the house.

News? Since my I've received my piece of paper that certifies me "smart", I feel kind of weird. No papers to write? No deadlines to meet? No readings about Gender? I'm so confused what people do when they aren't in school! So, I've been quite lazy. The boyfriend hasn't appreciated it quite so much. Oh well. Suck it Trebek.

So this is my life. Trying to get organized, do last minute doctors' appointments because I lose my health insurance soon, study for the GRE, take the GRE, and get my car fixed (story to come later). Hopefully lots more time to blog.

I f-ing miss you guys!

Done!

The madness of exams and graduating is over!  I graduated last Saturday and I've spent the past week traveling between home and Georgia.  My fam and I visited Atlanta's Coke Museum and Aquarium.  Super fun!  From there we drove to Savannah and ate and drank toooo much.  We had to make it to Paula Deen's restaurants and oh my god was the food amazing.  We ended up in an Irish Pub that night listening to a handsome irishman sing folk songs.  So fun!  I've spent the rest of my week, here, in my hometown--eating and drinking too much.  It's been a good time!

More blogging to come!
