Summer....so far

Image

We have been having a great summer so far with a lot of visitors....................Laci and her family were here to enjoy the beach and mountains and we had tons of laughs and ice cream.

Haylee informed us that she has been waiting all YEAR for chocolate malted crunch ice cream so she (they) ate a bowl everynight.......she told us she can only get it in Carpinteria, Vegas and Mexico.....so you know, it was now or never. We thought of a lot of different ways she could take some cartons home.

Image White Rock is one of our favorite places to go up the 154.............we can play for hours.....

Image

Image We tried a few new things in SB.........like this ride and an eight seater bike....and an interesting hippie van.....

Image

Image This is only the third time N has seen little Beckham......he is almost a year old and on the brink of walking and so cute.................

Image Haylee skinned a snake and thought Gma Trudy would be so proud!!! We talked a lot about the time Gma Trudy saw a Rattle snake in the road and turned around to run it over and over and over and then cut the rattle off for show and tell.....

Haylee rocked it on a 5 mile hike and had to pull her 30yr old aunt up the mountain........but the view was worth it.

Karalee and her 2 boys were here and we went to the famous St. Joseph's carnival and had a blast. (We only almost lost Austin two times......)

Image Real Grandpas wear purses..........and babysit while the others ride all of the rides! He also babysat daily so the girls could work out. Thanks Gpa!

Kade and Austin loved the rides........they are so funny to watch because they get so excited. They love the beach and kept Ruby very busy.

Trip of a Lifetime

I, Trudy have been on a Church History Tour from Rochester New York to Salt Lake City. We left on June 20th and arrive in Salt Lake July 2. Over 2600 miles on a tour bus. It has been truly wonderful. We have the most unbelievable tour directors whose collective knowledge of Church History has made the bus hours so informative with stories, videos, songs, lectures and games. I actually think I am at the age where this might be the first check off for my bucket list. The sights have been breathtaking, spiritual, tear jerking, faith promoting, and just plain amazing. I will post more when I get home, but just thought I would let you all know I am alive. I am posting pictures but with no captions cause I am not sure how to do that.

40 Years Really IS Amazing !!!!!

Nicole really helped to make our Anniversary special by gifting us a room in a cute little "Western Style" motel in Ojai. We had a very comfortable King bed and a nice jaccuzi in our room. She also bought this cake to help us Celebrate with Shawn and Farrah and kids. Brion was in on the whole plan too. Thank you to all of our kids for helping to make our 40 years full of memories that are pricless. We truly are happy that we are a Family Forever!!! Love you all.Image Just for the record......We do still kiss.........

By the way, the Costco cake was really good....and I am not a cake lover. We enjoyed it for many days.

One Happy Mother/Grandmother!!!!

Mother's Day came and went without too much fanfare. I heard from all my kids either by phone or cards. Nicole and Brion made a Sunday dinner for us. But for me, true Mother's Day is anytime that I get together with all my children and grandchildren. That happened at Tristan's blessing day in March.

Easter Weekend

Image

I love this picture of Laci carrying sleeping Beckham and me carrying Brooke's sleeping Tristan. They had no clue that there was an intense volleyball match going on between BYU vs. UCSB.

I was back in Utah after only being gone for 4 weeks. With 6 children and all of my grandchildren living there, what would one expect. Someone said to Rick, "Well I guess Utah is Trudy's home away from home," and Rick replied, "no, CARPINTERIA is Trudy's home away from home." Rick joined me on this trip and we had a wonderful family filled time. Rick refereed a little volleyball at BYU and then the rest of the time we spent with family. We also got to go the Grandparents day at Laci's girl's Elementary. That was really a special event for us to attend.

Tristan Loves His Grandma!!

Image

Time for a new picture on the blog and Heather just emailed me this so I am posting it. I remember how cute it was when we took this picture. Hopefully he really is smiling at me and not just having a gas bubble. Will be seeing ALL 15 grandchildren on Easter Sunday. Can't wait for that special day. Oh, and I will be happy to see the parents of all my grandchildren too.
