Since I’m not driving all over the place, I am in a bit of a musical drought…..so, I turned the house into a dance party his morning…..actually not so much a dance party but a rock concert….
Went completely A.D.D. with Youtube…..started with Joe Cocker’s “Feelin’ Allright” - it's just a perfect jam song....it makes me dance in my seat....and to quote Chele, it's a tail wagging happy song ...no joke, I'm sitting here bouncing as I type...
And then I followed the suggestions on the side…..Cocker, Clapton, Wyman & Wood playing “Feeling Allright”!! The Black Crows version was ok, but I had to pass on the Jackson 5 version…..
And Joe Cocker covers "Every Kind of People"…….so of course I have to hunt down the Robert Palmer version....which then led to the mash up of "I Want You" and “Mercy, Mercy Me”…..love the combination of these songs….I think that it has to do with the bassline....or the harmonies….or the dramatic key change…..or the horns…..or something….or all of the above….
And of course this led me try to hunt down Mighty Mighty Bosstones in 1998.....Live from the Middle East...where they flawlessly transitioned "The Impression That I Get" to "Someday I Suppose".....no video but I found some other MMB concert footage....
