I have been working my way through the Anita Blake series for about a decade now....current book contains the gem below.  Even funnier since we just had our knives out in a pizza place in Philly....

So I stepped out of the car on the rat king’s arm, like a trophy wife – except for the wrist sheaths and the two folding knives hidden in my clothing.  Somehow I think trophy wives wear more makeup and less cutlery.  But, hey, I haven’t ever met a trophy wife, maybe I’m wrong.  Maybe they know what I know, that the true way to a man’s heart is six inches of metal between his ribs.  Sometimes four inches will do the job, but to be really sure, I like to have six. Funny how phallic objects are always more useful the bigger they are.  Anyone who tells you size doesn’t matter has been seeing too many small knives.

Spent Sunday evening celebrating a friend's birthday - limo ride to the arena, tons of food, good company and getting our picture taken on the ice afterwards!!

Jam as many Latvians as you can inside the Philly Society bar!!  Fantastic afternoon at the Christmas market, getting to spend time with special people and of course a sing-a-long!!

Up And Down - Times Two...

Yesterday's hike at Campgaw Mountain Reservation really tired out the dog. In a quest to see the landmarks, we took the trails up and down both sides of the mountain!

We made a point of got being outside Friday and showed some color along the trail!

Thanksgiving!

We hosted creatures great and small - the human ones are not pictured...

Odds...

I knew that the odds were that the company would be affected.  Spent a fun weekend with my friends ignoring the fact that Monday would not be good.  

All of our employees were accounted for but there is a handful that lost friends and family members and a bunch more that had near misses.  Even one that was in the concert hall but luckily got out.

It hurts my heart that these things have to happen in the world.  But I also find comfort in the fact that there are those in our lives that can also make sure that a smile can return to my face.
