[T]he flat, generalizing, presentist view of the past encapsulates it and makes it boring, whereas amazement yearns toward an understanding, a significance, that is always just a little beyond both our theories and our fears.
Every view of things that is not wonderful is false.

Welcome to One Last Sketch, official blog of me, history guy/wannabe illustrator/occasional author Michal Wojcik. I started this blog in university as a place to archive my comics done on cheap, yellow paper from the dollar store. These are somewhat bizarre and poorly-drawn, but that was maybe the point. Since then, the blog’s focus has changed. You’ll now find articles discussing fantasy fiction, short stories, comic books, history, art, and whatever else strikes my fancy. Sometimes I host a podcast.
If you wish to contact me, just use the “Contact” form on this blog. I’ll be happy to answer any questions.
You can also find me on Mastodon and Instagram.
Comments Policy
I reserve the right to moderate comments. I will not modify anyone’s words, but I will delete entirely anything I find offensive, off-topic, spammy or stupid.

Why the blog of the New Sun? Is this a Gene Wolfe reference? I hope it is. Every great blog should have five or seven Gene Wolfe references.
It is indeed a Gene Wolfe reference.
